My Personal Insights
The type of curriculum a school offers is very important.
Based on the table above, we can see that the traditional
curriculum is far behind from the progressive curriculum.
Nowadays, we must go with the flow of 21 st century. We must
cope up with the changes so our curriculum must improve too so
that we can develop the children holistically. As we are in this
present generation, we must use the progressive curriculum
because it engages students in activities of a higher plane of
thinking.

My Reflections/ My Insights
In narrow sense, curriculum is just the list of
subjects taught in schools. But in broader sense, it is not
just the subjects but rather the total learning experiences

My Reflections/ My Insights
Curriculums are made of the objectives, subject
matter, methods and strategies and the evaluation
approaches. Each of it is distinct but is interrelated to
each other. All the things that make up the curriculum are
supplementary to realize the goals of the school.
When I become a teacher, I will give my best to
follow the curriculum so that I will be able to provide
students with total learning experiences and also to prove
everyone that I am a product of a good institution.

My Reflections/ My Insights
The 6 features of a curriculum are the learners who are the
center of curriculum, the teachers who are the curriculum
developers and implementers, the administrators as the curriculum
managers, the parents as supporters, community members as

My Reflections/ My Insights
Technology has a great role in curriculum implementation.
Besides, we are now living in the 21 st century so there is really a must
that we uplift our education through the use of technology.
Technology integration enhances teaching-learning process because it
provides variety of lessons. For example, the internet is an extension
of the library. There is a need to provide students information that
forms a coherent whole so learning will end up effectively.

To attain my target, I should do the following:
2. Interview

the merits

1. Visit DepEd or

My Enriching Activities
Select one innovation and complete the discussion web below. Interview
Education students to get their ideas on curricular innovations.

K-12
My Conclusions
Curriculum managers and educational experts are
always looking for better ways to achieve better learning
through teaching. However, since curriculum innovations
seemed to be difficult for many, issues and concerns have
been raised about curricular innovations. The newness of
the idea to the users raises issues which need to be
addressed. Certain aspects need to be clarified in order to
overcome the attitude and feelings that create some
concerns.
Some of the curricular issues and concerns are the
poor academic performance of learners, the deprived
instructional
materials,
computers,
overcrowded
classrooms, some innovations are not communicated, some
teachers are so tired and not motivated, lack of regular
monitoring and evaluation about the performance, and many
other more.
There must be a fast-tracking of textbook, retraining of teachers, more buildings, provided computer
sets and other technology related equipment the DepEd
should provide to make a curriculum more effective.
In the installation of the new curriculum or
innovation in education, all stakeholders should be involved.
This participatory process provides a sense of ownership
and motivation to all stakeholders. In so doing, each one will
make sure that the result of the innovation will be positive.
CONCLUSION
