1. Description
The first section describes the basic
features of the hopper.
The second section describes the
hopper models and associated
assemblies available.

1.1 Development objectives

This hopper model was developed with the aim of facilitating access to the hopper region and handling
during servicing, such as to facilitate the replacement of wear parts in the hopper, for example.
A previous weakness on our machines was the relatively limited space between the loading hopper
and the truck. This was previously a focal point for criticism of our machines and was considered to be
placing us at a disadvantage in relation to our competitors.
By introducing an easy-to-assemble system, it has been possible to reduce the time and costs of
servicing and when replacing components in the hopper such as S transfer tubes or wear parts.
In addition, it was also possible to reduce the weight of the concrete pump by introducing plastics as a
manufacturing material.

1.2 Features
Figure 2 shows a 16 HLS pump by way of example.
A general feature of this RS907 L hopper series is the
S2318 S transfer tube with its larger intake diameter
in relation to the S2018 S transfer tube and the
general introduction of the 90 mm diameter S transfer
tube bearing.

For the bearing, this means a reduced specific load on the teeth and in the bearing housing. The result
is a longer service life.

1.3 Overview of the variants

The RS907L hopper is manufactured from one base part for three different connection diameters.
Figure 3 shows the manufacturing structure with a planning stage and scheduling stage.
The subcontractor takes the planned or base hopper and prepares it according to its later use, welding
on the crossbeam for the various delivery cylinders, for example.

1.4 Current further developments

In the future, a conical S transfer tube shaft bearing will be introduced for this hopper. This bearing is
already in use by Putzmeister Systems Engineering.
Furthermore, the hopper extension is produced
by injection moulding PUR material into which
the cradle supports for the grille are made.
This will then mean that the two steel round
rods in the hopper are no longer necessary.
See figure 4.

2. Features and function description

The plastic and rubber material components on the machine are kept black, as can be seen in figure
5. They match the different paint finishes of the vehicles. The rubber collar, hopper extension and also
the water tank with its side-mounted lance holders are the components referred to here.

2.1 Common basic features of the RS 907 L hopper series

The grille is made from wear-resistant steel.
It is mounted externally and therefore away from the
concrete.
The long-requested integrated vibrator cabling was also
added at this point.

The hopper is divided:

the extension is
removable: See
function description.

2.2 Function description

The following describes the method of operation for the RS907L hopper and the procedure for
dismantling the hopper extension. The hopper extension is made of plastic, and sits on the steel
hopper and is then screwed down.

The six screws on the sides and at the

rear must be loosened.
The connecting bolt for the extension
hopper rubber collar must also be
removed. The hopper extension can now
be removed. Since the weight of this
spray guard unit is m = 35 kg, it may
only be removed with one person on the
left and another on the right-hand side.

When subsequently assembling the

hopper, it must be ensured that the seal
cord and also the flange face are free
from dirt or concrete residue in order to
achieve a flawless seal. The seal cord
must be greased.

The hopper extension is removed.

Folding up the grille as normal produces
a larger opening than before, and it is
through this larger opening that the
access to the switch lever and bearing
region, for example, is significantly
improved.
