Limited Warranty and Service Conditions
For the purpose of this Limited Wananty and Service, "Sony " means Sony lndia Pvt.Limited for ihis compuler hardware product
(the "Product') purchased from one of Sony's officialVA|O distribulors,in lndia.sont Ofers:

l. The Extended warranty

Pack has to be purchased before the expiry of limitod waranty of (1) year.

2. Lim itsd Warranty

('l) For a period of + two (2) years',from the expiry date of one year initial standard warranty,sony warrants that the product is
free from defects in materials and workmanship and in conformity with the respective specifications ofthe product.
(2) Upon discovery of a defect in rnaterials,workrnanship or failure to nEet ihe specification in the product during
such + two (2)
years period',Sony shall,at Sony'ssole discretion,either repair such Product or replaceit with the identical type of producl without
charging ant technical labour fee and repair parts cost to you, on the condition that you bring such produci io Sony,s service
shos for VAIO within such + two (2) years period". ln case of repair or replacemenl,sony rnay own all the parts rernoved from the
defective Sony may use new and/or reconditioned parls rlEde by various rnanufaclurers in performing warranty repairs and
replacelEnt of the Product. Even if Sony repairs or replaces the producl, its original + two (2) year* warranty term is nol
extended.
(3) This limited warranty covers only the hardware components contained in the Product. lt does not cover lechnical assistance
for hard\,vare or sofrware usage and it does not @ver any soflware products contained in the Produci; Sony excludes all
warranties express or implied in respect of any soffware provided with Product and any such sofri are is prwided ,AS lS,, unless
expressly provided for in any enclosed software limited wananty. Please refer to the End User License Agreements included with
Produci for your rights with regard to the licensor or supplier of the sofllvare parts of the Producl and the parties, respective
obligations with respect to the soflware.
(4) This limited warranty is non-transferable.

(5) \Mth respec{ to all service provided, it is your responsibility prior to Product service to backup the contents of your hard
drive,
including any data you have stored or sofrware you have installed on the hard drive. it is likely that the contents of your hard
drive will be lost or reforrnatted in the course of service and Sony will not be responsible for any,danrage to or loss of any
prograrns, data or other information stored on any media or any part ofthe Produd serviced hereundei or danrage or loss
arising
from the Producl not being availing for use before or duiing or after the period of service provided or any indirect or
consequential damages resulting three-from.

(6) IF DURING THE REPAIR OF THE PRODUCT THE CONTENTS OF THE HARD DRIVE ARE ALTERED, DELETED, OR IN
ANY WAY MODIFIEO, SONY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE WHATEVER, YOUR PRODUCT WLL BE RETURNED TO YOU
CONFIGURED AS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED.
(7) Be sure to remove all third parties' hardware, soffware, features,parts,options,alterations, and attachrnents not warranty by
Sony prior to product service. Sony is not responsible for any loss or danEge to these ilems..
(8) This wananty is limited as set out herein and does not cover, inter alia, any consumable items (such as batteries)
supplied
with the Product; any accessory products which is not contained in the Product (such as rnouse, AC adaptor, port replicator, and
exernal speakeo; darnage or loss to any sofiware programs, data, or rernovable storage rnedia; or darnage due to
(1) acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, comrnercial use or nrodilicationi of produc{
(2) improper operation or rnaintenance of the Product;
(3) connection lo improper voltage supplyi or
(4) atternted repair by any party other ihan a Sony authorized personal coffputer service facility.

(9) This limited warranty does not apply when tha matfunction result from the use of the Producl in conjunction with any
accessodes, products or ancillary or peripheral equipment, or where it is determined by Sony that ther; is no fault with the
produci itsell This limited waranty is valid only in india. This limited waranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number
has
been altered or rernoved frornproducl.

(10) SONY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES THAN STATEO HEREINABOVE, EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING WTHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABLITY AND FTTNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE TO THE FULLEST EKIENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

(3)Telephone Support:
(1) Sony offers telephone support("Support") to you without charge over the telephone for ninety (90) days from
the date of
delivery for problems regarding the Product except for any third party's soft,vare produci in accordance with the then-current
terms and conditions set by Sony. Sony offers you for a period of ninety (90) days tom the dale of deliverysupport relating to
Sony's softlvare and operating systems originally provided by Sony as a part of the Product shall be provided without charle to
you.
(2) Sony will not offer support to you for problerns regarding any software or hardware produc{s licensed
or sold by any pady
other lhan Sony.lf you need such Support, you shatl contact the respec{ive supplier or licensor of each such soffware or
hardware product.
