A . Create VPN connection for Windows 2000. XP. 2003

Configure a VPN Connection

1. On the computer that is running Windows XP, confirm that the connection to the Internet is
correctly configured.

You can try to browse the internet

Ping a known host on the Internet, like yahoo.com, something that isnt blocking ICMP

2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

3. In Control Panel, double click Network Connections

4. Click Create a new connection in the Network Tasks task pad

5. In the Network Connection Wizard, click Next.

6. Click Connect to the network at my workplace, and then click Next.

7. Click Virtual Private Network connection, and then click Next.

8. Click Do not dial the initial connection, and then click Next.

9. Type Address of FSOFT VPN server: vpn.fsoft.com.vn then click next

10. You may be asked if you want to use a Smart Card or not.

11. You are just about done, the rest of the screens just verify your connection, click Next.

12. Click to select the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop check box if you want one, if
not, then leave it unchecked and click finish.
13. You are now done making your connection

14. One you are in the Network Connection dialog box, double-click, or right click and select Connect
from the menu this will initiate the connection to the FPT Software office.

15. Type your user name and password, and then click Connect.

16. To disconnect from a VPN connection, right-click the icon for the connection, and then click
Disconnect

B . Create VPN connection for Windows VISTA and Win7

1. Click on the Start or Windows logo button located on the bottom left side of the screen and select
Control Panel. Click on Network and Sharing Center.

2. Click on Set up a Connection or Network.

3. Select Connect to a Workplace then click on Next.

4. Select No Create a New Connection, then click on Next.

5. Click Use my Internet Connection (VPN).

6. In the "Internet Address" box type vpn.fsoft.com.vn . For the "Destination name" box type
FSOFT VPN, then click Next.

7. Type your Username, type your Password (FSOFT account). You can select "Remember this
password", and click Create.

You can connect later but select "Set up the connection".

You should be able to browse the Internet before you connect with VPN.

Create a shortcut

1. Click on the Start or Windows logo button located on the bottom left side of the screen and
select Control Panel. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click on Manage Network Connection.
3. Right click on FSOFT VPN and select "Create Shortcut", you will be asked to place it on your
desktop
