TAPELASTIC can be applied on wood, steel, metal and concrete substrates. Steel and
metalsurfacesshouldbecleanandfreefromrustandmillscales.Concretesubstrateon
whichTAPELASTICistobeapplied,shouldbewellcuredandsound,freefromcracks,oil
contamination etc. Cracks, if any, should be repaired properly, before application of
TAPELASTIC.

Substrate should be thoroughly prewetted with water to a saturated surface dry

conditionbeforethefirstcoatofTAPELASTICisapplied.Thesecondcoatcanbeapplied
after4to5hours,i.e.afterthefirstcoathasdried.
To prepare the TAPELASTIC slurry, slowly pour the powder i.e. ComponentB into the
liquidpolymeri.e.ComponentAandkeeponmixing,usingaslowspeeddrillfittedwith
asuitableimpeller(400to500RPM).Onlythatamountofmaterialshouldbemixed
o

which can be consumed in about 30 minutes at 30 C ambient temperature. Faster

settingcantakeplaceifambienttemperaturesarehigher.Thismixingcanbedonein
anordinaryplasticbucket.Afterachievingahomogenousmix,useablockbrush,roller,
squeegee or spray to spread the material evenly over the surface. In case the mix is
foundtobetooharsh,amaximumof10%wateronthetotalweight(ComponentA+

B)maybeaddedtoobtainasmoothandbrushableconsistency.Tocover1m intwo
coats,about1kgto2kgofmixedmaterialisrequired,dependingontheporosityof
the substrate. In areas, where abrasion or possibilities of floor abuse is there, a
protectivescreedovertheTAPELASTICcoatingisrecommended.

CURING:
AfterapplicationoffinalcoatofTAPELASTIC,initialairdryingshallbedonefor2to6
hours.Duringthisperiod,nowatershouldbeusedforcuring.Inareasofhighwindor
inplaceswithhighambienttemperature,useapolythenesheettoavoidrapiddryingof
thecoating.Afteramaximumperiodof6hoursafterthefinalapplication,moistcuring
shallbedoneforthenext24hours,eitherbysprayingwaterorbyusingwetburlap.
Duringthisperiod,theTAPELASTICcoatingatnopointoftimeshouldbeleftcompletely
dryorsubmergedinwater.Afterthemoistcuring,theTAPELASTICcoatingshallbe
allowedtoairdryfor3days,beforesubmersioninwater.
