ICE 287(g) Applications, Denials, & Requests for Information

Below are links to a variety of primary-source documents related to the 287(g) program of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),
through which state and local law enforcement officers are "deputized" to enforce federal immigration law (see ICE's most recent Fact Sheet
for more background). These documents were obtained through a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (original request letter
here, and ICE's response letter here).

All records from jurisdictions that have expressed an interest in the ICE 287(g) program are listed below with links to the documents obtained
through the FOIA request. Note that not all of these jurisdictions actually applied to the program; some merely sought more information. The
documents are arranged alphabetically by state, then by the political subdivision thereof. The "Request" column reflects what the specific
request (if any) of the relevant law enforcement agency; the "Disposition" column reflects the outcome, if known, of each jurisdiction's
application or request for information, while the next column ("Disposition Date") reflects the date of that outcome (unfortunately, many are
marked "unclear" because of ICE's apparent habit of not date-stamping all of its correspondence). Finally, the "Notes" column reflects
anything particularly noteworthy about the documents.

Key to acronyms used below:

 JEO = Jail Enforcement Officers (AKA the "Detention Model," whereby the 287(g)-trained officers work in jails).
 TFO = Task Force Officers (AKA the "Task Force Model," whereby the 287(g)-trained officers are patrol officers).
 ICE = Immigration and Customs Enforcement
 OSLC = Office of State and Local Coordination, the ICE division responsible for CAP and the 287(g) program, among others.
 CAP = ICE's Criminal Alien Program.
 DRO = Detention and Removal, one of the two main subdivisions of ICE.
 SAC = Special Agent in Charge, the head of a local office of the Office of Investigations (OI), ICE'S other main subdivision.
 MOU = Memorandum of Understanding, the contract between ICE and the LEA necessary to join the 287(g) program.
 LEA = law enforcement agency.
 DOC = Department of Corrections.
 DPS = Department of Public Safety.
 FY = Fiscal Year.
