STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Todays competitive arena demands every individual to be highly motivated

and innovative. My obsession to achieve my goals has driven me to plan my
work systematically and to work out my plan meticulously.
I had completed my bachelors in the stream of Electronics and
Communication Engineering at Lovely Professional University. It was during
my formative and impressionable years that the electronic wizardry greatly
excited me and so when it came to making a decision about my
undergraduate studies, Electronics and Communication Engineering was a
natural choice. Some of other reasons for choosing this discipline were its
magnificent accomplishments in the past and the sheer promise it holds out
for the future.
I am glad that my course has covered a whole gamut of inter related
subjects from the Electronics and Computer departments. I can best describe
myself as a person having Sound mind with a sound body. I have taken up
courses on Electronic Devices, Signals and Systems, Network Analysis and
Systems, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Computer Architecture,
Computer Communication Networks, Optical Communication, Programming
and Data Structures, Microprocessors, Communication Theory and Systems,
Antenna and Wave propagation among others.
My eagerness to apply theoretical knowledge in practice applied me to do a
couple of mini projects namely Library Management System in C++ which
contained all the essential modules for managing a library including
administrator, students and teachers having their separate interface and
Railway Reservation System in C which contained all the essential
modules for managing class select, seat availability, reservation, and
cancellation.. A strong foundation is a necessity for meeting the exacting
demands of research work. Thus, I did my final project named E-Passport
with Embedded System Development at Satyam Software Solutions Private
Ltd where I developed skills in interfacing and programming in Embedded C.
My undergraduate curriculum seated my penchant to computers partially
which could be fulfilled by my Post Graduation. Even though I had subjects
related to computers in my curriculum, my appetite to learn more about
computers was not satisfied. This made me to complete some diploma
courses in it, which was comprised of cutting edge technologies like Matlab &
Simulink, Release 2009a, Dev-Cpp, Cisco Packet Tracer, Keil Simulator, MCSE,
CCNA, LINUX, SQL (Basics), Embedded C and certified by Microsoft as a
System Associate.

I believe that extracurricular activities play a very important role in building

up a sharp mental acumen. It also helps in stimulating our concentrating
ability which is very helpful for our academics also. Right from my childhood I
have been having a great interest for sports. During my school & college
days, I was into Basketball team & won gold medal in Inter house Basketball
Championship. Also I took part in number of blood donation camps at College
level, so that I can contribute little towards society as well.
After Graduation from Lovely Professional University, I began my professional
career with
Assiduous Consulting Private Limited where I am working as Technical
Analyst from past 1.5 years where in my job responsibilities includes
Conduct Computer Forensic investigations and electronic discovery requests
for Legal and corporate clients like Microsoft, Adobe, BSA, Siemens, The
Foundry, PT etc. using proprietary methodologies and cutting edge forensic
tools, Advising investigators on the availability and reliability of digital
Evidence , Working with investigators to acquire digital evidence through
onsite searches , Conducting examinations of digital evidence and preparing
evidence for trial , Conducting interviews and taking statements in relation
to computer evidence , Uncover Digital Data such as e-mail correspondence
or erased files, preserve it for later use as evidence, and analyze the data in
light of the crime in question . My job helped me to learn about technology
industry. So I believe that after doing post graduation diploma in computing,
it would open up more career streams in area of technology.
I have been consistently preparing myself to meet the requirements of this
goal that I have set for myself. In the years to follow, I see myself evolving as
a person with the necessary skills to take up a career in computing
department and research work in the same. Working towards this goal, Post
Graduation Diploma would be the first and the most important step. But, why
in the New Zealand and not elsewhere?. I have always believed that the
education system in the New Zealand is a dynamic and the best in the world.
I have always had a yen for cosmopolitan outlook. This would help me adapt
with ease, to the vibrant multitude of cultures prevalent in the New Zealand.
I am sure my adaptability would render me a helping hand in harboring down
in a new land.
I am seeking admission to the post graduation diploma in Applied Intormatics
at your esteemed college. It has been my aim to pursue research in this field.
To be successful in ones field of interest, one needs proper guidance,
mentors and environment that fastens learning and provides students with
state-of-art research and lab facilities. I am convinced that your college
would provide me with all of the above. I would be grateful to you, if I am
