Step 1: To start the install procedure, execute the setup file from the table above. The following window
will be displayed.

The following USB/RS-232 adapter installation procedure applies to the Vivanco USB SER-N 23425
adapter. The installation procedure for another USB/RS-232 adapter might be slightly different.

new COM Port (COM4 on our test laptop used for Win7/Vista compatibility tests) is available and ready
for use.

CAUTION: Do not install DAS into the default C:\Program Files\Vibro-Meter\DAS folder. The DAS
application will not work when installed into this directory!

General
Overview
The DAS (Data Acquisition Software) receives data from the CMC (Central Maintenance Computer)
and displays the data in a readable format for the Maintenance personnel. The DAS is compatible with
all CMC versions and displays the CMC data accordingly. Detection of CMC versions 10 and higher is
performed automatically, while with versions lower than 10, the user must manually perform the
detection.

User Interface
The Application is Menu and Dialog based, comprising of several dialogs, one Scrolling view for
displaying Download data and two Form views for displaying the FADEC Real-Time Data.
5.1
Menus
Menus enable the selection of the different functions in the Full DAS, with the user selecting with the
mouse or keyboard the required menu option, corresponding to the task required to be performed.
In the following items, the menus and options available are detailed.

Note: The System Options is available only when activated in the INI file providing the
following options:
Save Data, force the data to be re-saved into its corresponding file.
Load / Save Raw data, allows later loading of an actual download.
Get Version, Gets the CMC version and restarts the program.
Generate Test Data, Generates random data used for testing.

CMC Data
Below is an explanation of how the data is organized, ordered and displayed.
For all data type except the real time data there is a Header followed by the data then a checksum.
The Header defines
How many bytes are contained in the message,
If a CMC memory area is nearly full and a download followed by a Clear is required,
The Aircraft Identification,
Status of the message.
Each data type contains Leg Status, which has the following values.
