Abstract: With the development and progress of the underbalanced perforating technology, some different underbalanced pressure
design methods have been developed. However, the factors that conventional method has taken into consideration are relatively simple,
so the results vary a lot with different methods, resulting in great inconvenience to field application. So on the basis of considering the
adventages and disadvantages of conventional methods, a new method taking many factors into account, such as reservoir permeability,
porosity, rock mechanics parameter, sanding history, safe casing pressure, rock mechanic stability of bullet hole , etc. The new method
takes safety factors into account more thoroughly as compared to the conventional one. It has been applied to the No.1 Oil Production
Factory of Xinjiang Oilfield Company and remarkable effect has been achieved. After perforation in 8 wells, these wells all can perform
as flow production naturally, attending higher productivity. All of these indicate that the new method of has certain practicability.
