EntryScan 4 Explosives Detection System

GE Security's high-sensitivity, high-throughput 'puffer machine', the EntryScan 4 can detect a broad range of explosives in
seconds. Using GE's patented technology, the portal can identify even the most challenging substances by detecting and
analyzing their microscopic traces. This compact, redesigned model has been reduced in height for installations under 8ft
(2.44m) without sacrificing any walk-through space.
Engineered to dramatically reduce maintenance time, EntryScan 4 features a quick-access panel that puts key system
components within arm's reach. Enhanced sample collection assures full-body screening, including the head and shoes.

Built to quickly and accurately identify threats in the field, GE's StreetLab Mobile is a go-anywhere, user-friendly handheld
unit that can identify chemical substances using Raman spectroscopy for data capture and analysis. Rugged, yet ergonomic
and lightweight, the StreetLab Mobile can reliably identify liquids, powders and solids in a single step without sample
consumption or subjective interpretation.
The StreetLab Mobile is ergonomically optimized for ease-of-use in Level A gear, with large buttons, straightforward onboard LCD screen readouts, joystick function and 'point-and-shoot' operation. It is made of highly durable and fully

Security checkpoints
Various technologies are used in combination to provide a layered approach to security. X-ray scanners,
millimetre-wave people screening, and trace detection enable security operators to detect explosives,
weapons and illegal items in baggage, on staff or on the passengers themselves.
Speed of throughput for passengers is a priority in the development of these screening systems.

Screening for explosives and weapons at airports

Hand-baggage is checked automatically for explosives with the HI-SCAN 6040 aTiX X-ray system, and can
be checked with the Ionscan 500DT trace detector. Weapons and illegal or dangerous items are identified
during the same scanning process with aTiX.
Passengers are screened with eqo, using its unique flat-panel millimetre-wave technology to detect
concealed threat objects. Automated detection provides full privacy for the person being screened with only a
generic graphical representation of the person being presented to the operator.

Screening checked baggage

Hold baggage is screened with Smiths Detection high-throughput automatic x-ray systems such as HI-SCAN
10080 XCT, the next generation high-speed checked baggage explosives detection system (EDS). It
combines a dual-energy X-ray line scanner with full 3D volumetric Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and
reconstruction. Belt speed: 0.5m/sec (98.5ft/min); tunnel size: 1070 x 810mm (42.1 x 31.9in). This product is
EU/ECAC EDS Standard 3 approved and laboratory certified for high-speed checked baggage screening by
the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
