PA STATE SYSTEM STUDENTS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FROM AT&T

HARRISBURG, PA (April 13, 2015) Fourteen Pennsylvanians who attend Pennsylvania
State System of Higher Education (State System) universities each received a $1,000 AT&T
Communications Scholarship to help with tuition and fees for the Spring 2015 semester.
The students were honored on April 11, 2015 during the State System Foundation Scholarship
Donor Appreciation Luncheon at the Dixon University Center.
The one-time scholarships were available to Pennsylvania residents who were enrolled full time
at one of the 14 State System universities; earned and passed 60 college credits; and maintained a 3.0
or better grade point average (GPA). In addition, applicants had to submit a cover letter outlining how
they learned about the scholarship; their career aspirations; and how the scholarship will benefit them.
The winners are pursuing degrees in communications, retail sales management, or hotel and restaurant
management.
At AT&T, we support programs and initiatives in the communities where our employees live and
work. The AT&T Communications Scholarships will help these young Pennsylvanians prepare for
career success, said Tiffany Baehman, vice president and general manager for AT&T Liberty States,
which includes Pennsylvania. On behalf of AT&T, congratulations to the winners of the AT&T
Scholarships.
According to Jennifer Hartman, President and CEO, Pennsylvania State System of Higher
Education Foundation, Inc., AT&Ts support reached students at almost every university in the
statewide system. It also impacts a population of students, rising juniors, who typically have less
scholarship and award opportunities than incoming freshmen.
We are most grateful for our new partnership with AT&T. Their philanthropic spirit is helping our
State System students in a very meaningful way, Hartman said

Hartman said the AT&T Communications Scholarship winners received a financial award that
covers approximately 30 percent of their tuition for the semester, calling the support a huge relief for
our student constituency who primarily depend on grants, aid and loans to fill tuition funding gaps.
Hartman added: These scholarships are helping our students stay focused on their university
education and achieve their dream of earning a conferred degree. Thanks to AT&T, these students are
positioned to graduate and enter the workforce in Pennsylvania, as 85 percent of our students do.
AT&Ts scholarship support is a significant investment in our students, the university communities and
also the Commonwealth. Again, we are proud and pleased to be partnering with AT&T.

hometowns, are:
