el 25 y 26 de noviembre de 2013, en la que
se hizo un recuento de los logros alcanzados, se
expusieron los avances de los proyectos y se acordaron las posibles estrategias para generar sinergias interinstitucionales en un contexto internacional (Mxico-Estados Unidos-Cuba), ecosistmico,
interdisciplinario, incluyente y sustentable.

he IV Marine Investigation Institution

Consortium (CIIMar-GoM) ordinary session took place the 25 & 26 of November, 2013 in the city of Merida, Yucatn. A relation
of the achieved goals and the project advances
was exposed and possible strategies to generate
inter-institutional synergies in an ecosystemic, interdisciplinary, inclusive and sustainable international context (Mexico-United States-Cuba) were
agreed.

Dentro de este contexto la educacin para el CIIMar-GoM, es un tema prioritario y transversal a

corto, mediano y largo plazo, sin embargo no
cuenta con un proyecto especfico de educacin
ambiental. Lo que evidencia dos prioridades:
*El urgente involucramiento de la AEAGM a travs
de proyectos de educacin ambiental dirigidos por
los comits estatales (Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatn y Quintana Roo).
*La participacin activa y permanente de la
AEAGM en la agenda 2014 del CIIMar-GoM.

Within this context, education for CIIMar-GoM is

a transversal and priority issue in the short, medium and long term, although it doesnt count with
a specific environmental education project. This
recognizes two priorities:

It was also agreed to define general themes such as:

1) Establish the official CIIMar-GoM logo.

2) Determine the structure and content of the
official Web page.
3) Establish the legal figure (might be Civil Association).
4) Determine the possibility of establishing membership to belong to the Consortium and the pay for
finished scientific project results.
5) Establish awards for researchers according to
three categories: researchers career, institutions
career and young researchers.
6) As a petition from the AEAGM (Veracruz committee), the importance of recognizing a community leader in management and conservation of
coastal area natural resources was mentioned and
as a response, Dr. Porfirio Alvarez Torres, suggested
that since it involves the community, the AEAGM
should be the one to identify the leader.

3) Definir la figura legal (el cual se perfila como
Asociacin Civil).
4) Determinar la posibilidad de establecer Membresas para pertenecer al Consorcio y el pago por

5) Establecer el otorgamiento de premios a investigadores de acuerdo a tres categoras: trayectoria
de investigacin a investigador, trayectoria de investigacin a institucin y joven investigador.
6) Por peticin de la AEAGM (comit de Veracruz),
se mencion la importancia de reconocer mediante
un premio al lder comunitario en manejo y conservacin de recursos naturales de zona costera, y en
respuesta, el Dr. Porfirio lvarez Torres, aconsej
que por tratarse de la comunidad, este debe ser
identificado y propuesto por la AEAGM.

Respecto a la agenda 2014 del CIIMar-GoM, esta

contempla las siguientes actividades:

Retos planteados para el CIIMar-GoM:

CIIMar-GoM challenges:

Utilizar tecnologas mviles mediante la comunidad para el muestreo de ciertos parmetros. Mediante un proyecto de educacin ambiental, capacitar a la comunidad costera, para que sean ellos
quienes en forma permanente realicen los muestreos, los capturen y los enven a una gran base de
datos.
Unificar y aplicar los resultados de las investigaciones en la legislacin que permita el manejo eficiente y la conservacin de ecosistemas y especies
costeras.
Visualizar el Golfo de Mxico en forma integral,
que permita establecer modelos no divididos que
contribuyan a la toma eficiente de decisiones.
Establecer una red temtica del Golfo de Mxico y
Caribe y una Red de laboratorios de calidad del
agua.
Lograr el involucramiento de diversas instituciones
acadmicas y de investigacin de Mxico, Estados
Unidos y Cuba.
Desarrollar los siguientes proyectos prioritarios:
Sistema de Observacin del Ocano, Aumento del
nivel de mar y resiliencia costera, Cadenas trficas
en el Golfo de Mxico, Sistemas de informacin
pesquera, Cuenca del ro Usumacinta y Restauracin ecolgica de manglares

La AEAGM representa un vnculo para transmitir y

aplicar conocimientos. Por un lado, el conocimiento

Develop the following priority projects: Ocean Observation System, Sea Level Rise and Coastal Resilience, Trophic chains in the Gulf of Mexico,
Fishery information systems, Usumacinta basin
and Mangrove Ecological Restoration.

de los recursos naturales del gran ecosistema marino
del Golfo de Mxico.

The AEAGM represents a link to transmit and apply

knowledge. On one hand, the knowledge generated
by the institutions and Researchers (CIIMar-GoM)
and on the other, the knowledge that the rural and
urban communities historically possess and is facing
the challenge to homogenize the information and
distribute it to the population and the governors in
an understandable language and with applicable
practices, such as the consequences of not applying
them, with a vision of conservation and sustainable
management of the natural resources of the Gulf of
Mexico Large Marine Ecosystem.

n the months of October to December, the civil

organization, Mente Verde, in collaboration
with the Protected Area of Flora and Fauna,
Laguna de Terminos, held a course on the importance of Marine Turtle Conservation for children
of the community of Isla Aguada in the state of Campeche, Mexico. A total of 163 students of 5th and 6th
grade participated at the Venustiano Carranza primary school. The biologists Citlalli Cruz Mugartegui
and Martha Aguilar Nah, talked about the importance of the National Protected Areas for ecosystem conservation and its diversity, emphasizing on
marine turtles. The assistants understood the importance of protecting life and doing actions that
contribute to their conservation, through presentations, videos, fun activities and reflection.

n los meses de Octubre a Diciembre, la asociacin civil Mente Verde en estrecha colaboracin con el rea de Proteccin de Flora
y Fauna Laguna de Trminos, llevaron a cabo un curso sobre la importancia de la Conservacin de las
Tortugas Marinas, dirigido a los nios de la comunidad de Isla Aguada en el estado de Campeche, Mxico. En este curso se cont con la entusiasta participacin de 163 alumnos de 5to y 6to grado de la escuela primaria Venustiano Carranza. Las bilogas
Citlalli Cruz Mugartegui y Martha Aguilar Nah, tuvieron a su cargo tratar temas como la importancia de
las ANPs para la conservacin de los ecosistemas y
su diversidad, haciendo nfasis en las tortugas marinas. Los asistentes a travs de presentaciones, videos, actividades ldicas y de reflexin comprendieron la importancia de proteger la vida y realizar acciones que contribuyan a su conservacin.
El campamento tortuguero Isla Aguada sirvi de
marco para la culminacin de dicho curso, en donde
a travs de un Rally de conocimientos sobre tortugas
marinas, los nios se divirtieron, a la vez que adquirieron el compromiso de ser guardianes de las tortu-

and alumni of the Venustriano Carranza school for
all the facilities provided and their enthusiast participation in each activity. This project was financed by

n el Estado de Campeche, la Secretaria de

Educacin, en coordinacin con la CONAGUA, desarrolla el Programa Federalizado
de Cultura del Agua 2013, con el tema Cambio
Climtico, una propuesta para la Curricula Educativa del Nivel bsico. Dicho programa se ha desarrollado desde el ao 2007 con diferentes temas.
El objetivo principal es apoyar la curricula educativa en materia ambiental y cambio climtico que
viene inmerso en los libros de texto gratuito, proporcionndole a los docentes y alumnos herramientas didcticas, con la finalidad de reforzar los
temas y objetivos de sus programas.
La Secretara de Educacin del Estado de Campeche coordina este programa con la Comisin Nacional del Agua y los municipios del estado. La Secretaria de Educacin a travs del Departamento
de Seguridad y Emergencia Escolar, se responsabiliza de la participacin de los docentes y alumnos,
as como de la supervisin de estos, en los once
municipios del estado. Cabe mencionar que en este ao nicamente participaron 9 municipios de

n the state of Campeche, The Ministry of Education, in coordination with the CONAGUA, is
developing a Federalized Water Culture Program 2014, with the title Climate Change, a proposal for the Educational Curriculum for lower
schools. This program has been developed since
2007, with different themes.
The main objective is to support the environmental
educational and climate change curriculum which
has been printed within the free text books, providing teachers and alumni with didactic tools to reinforce the themes and objectives of their programs.
The Ministry of Education of the state of Campeche
coordinates this program jointly with the National
Commission of Water and the state municipalities.
The Ministry of Education, through the Department
of School Security and Emergency, is responsible for
teachers and alumnis participation, as well as the

supervision of eleven municipalities of the state. According to the following table, only 9 municipalities
participated this year.

El 28 de Enero del 2014, se llev a cabo la reunin

de coordinacin con los enlaces del Programa Federalizado de Cultura del Agua, en el que el Ingeniero
Buenfil Montalvo solicit la colaboracin de la Secretaria de Educacin, para dar seguimiento a dicho
programa, y en la cual se llegaron a los siguientes
acuerdos:
1.-Los municipios debern llevar a cabo un concurso
con los maestros y alumnos de las escuelas que participaron en los cursos, con temas libres apegados a
la temtica del curso taller.
2.-Se llevar a cabo el cierre del programa en los
nueve municipios participantes, con actividades ldicas, exposiciones y cine de cortometraje con temas
relacionados al Medio Ambiente y Proteccin Civil,
en el que se premiar a los alumnos ganadores de
los concursos.
3.-La Secretaria de Educacin participar con la difusin del programa del Sistema de Alerta Temprana
para nios (SIATPANI), por medio de la cancin, el
memorama y la botarga del logotipo, al mismo tiempo se expondrn los purificadores solares a escala,
elaborados en la Secretara de Educacin del estado
de Campeche.
4.-Se acordaron las fechas y horarios de los eventos
por municipio, como sigue:

1. The municipalities should organize a contest with

school teachers and alumni who participated in
the contests, with themes related to the course.
2. The closure of the program will take place in the
nine participating municipalities, with fun activities, expositions and short films of themes related
to the Environment and Civil Protection, in which
the winners will be awarded.
3. The Ministry of Education will participate with the
outreach of an Early Alert System program for children (SIATPANI), through a song, a memory game,
a motley of the logo, and will present the scale
solar purifiers, elaborated by the Ministry of Education od the state of Campeche.
4. The dates and times of the event for each municipality were agreed upon as follows:

took place on the 28th of January, 2014, at
the kindergarten Las Americas in the city of Tampico,

Hernndez dio la bienvenida. Se agradeci la participacin de la SEMARNAT por parte de Rebeca Castillo Hernndez. Despus se inicio con los padres de
familia una pltica sobre el manejo de los residuos
slidos urbanos por parte del Lic. Luis Elizalde C. de
SEMARNAT. Ms adelante se particip en una charla informativa sobre el cuidado del agua a cargo de

The director of the kindergarten, Guadalupe Sobrevilla Hernndez, welcomed everyone. Rebeca Castillo Hernandez thanked the SEMARNAT for their
participation in the event. A talk with parents, by
Luis Elizalde from the SEMARNAT, on Urban Solid
Waste Management, followed. A talk on Water Care
was also given by Frida Illoldi Mendiolea from COMAPA. Children participated in a song interpretation: The little seed and Water drops and the
director of the kindergarten gave closure to the
event.

El objetivo de la reunin fue compartir la importancia de la Educacin Ambiental en el municipio y el

entorno en lo relacionado con la separacin de los

residuos slidos tanto de casa como fuera del entorno.

The objective of the reunion was to share the importance of Environmental Education in the municipality and its surroundings in relation to solid waste
management at home and their environment.
Games and different dynamics created interest for
the care of the environment.
19 parents, 52 students and 4 teachers participated.
12 Neem plants, 5 Clean school posters and 4 marine turtles were donated on behave of the SEMARNAT. The COMAPA motley assisted and there was an
exposition of models and posters on the International Day of Environmental Education.

A la vez desarrollar con dinmicas y juegos, el inters del cuidado de nuestro medio ambiente.
Participaron 19 padres de familia, 52 alumnos y 4
profesoras. Se dono 12 plantas de Neem, 5 psters
de escuela limpia y 4 de tortugas marinas por parte
de la SEMARNAT. Asisti la botarga de COMAPA. Y
hubo una exposicin de maquetas y carteles alusivos
al da internacional de la Educacin Ambiental.El 28
de Enero del 2014, en el preescolar Las Amricas, en
la ciudad de Tampico, Tamaulipas, se llev a cabo el
evento del da Internacional de la Educacin Ambiental.
