1.1.1 Personal Army


Every Rogue Trader Expeditionary Force must include a Rogue Trader, who is taken as part of the Trader option, and must also include a Rogue Trader Cruiser. If the Rogue Traders unit is
destroyed, every formation in his army takes a blast marker.
Every Rogue Trader maintains a core of more dedicated supporters if only to keep the others in line. At least one-third of the points value of the army must be trustworthy. All Retinue and Space
Marine Contingent formations are trustworthy (except the Space Marine Strike Cruiser), as is one type of Mercenary Contingent formation (which type is chosen when the army list is created). All
other Mercenary Contingent formations are NOT trustworthy.
1.1.2 Nomadic Existence
A Rogue Trader army may opt to include more than one spacecraft by purchasing an additional spaceship beyond the mandatory Rogue Trader Cruiser. A Rogue Trader army may thus include up to
two spacecraft.
1.1.3 And They Shall Know No Fear
Space Marines are renowned for their tenacity and bravery. This is represented by the following rules:
It takes two Blast markers to suppress a Space Marine unit or kill a unit in a broken formation (ignore any leftover Blast markers).
Space Marine formations are only broken if they have two Blast markers per unit in the formation.
Space Marine formations only count half their number of blast markers in assault resolution (rounding down - note that assault resolution will not receive +1 for having no blast marker if the
formation has 1 blast marker before rounding down).
Halve the number of extra hits suffered by a Space Marine formation that loses an assault, rounding down in favour of the Space Marines.
When a broken Space Marine formation rallies then it receives a number of Blast markers equal to the number of units, rather than half this number.
Space Marine units with the Leader special ability remove 2 Blast markers instead of 1.
1.1.4 Space Marine Transports
The Space Marines are a highly mobile army and the points cost of a detachment usually includes enough Rhinos to transport it and any upgrades that have been taken. Determine the number of
Rhinos needed after all upgrades have been purchased. The number of Rhinos will always be the minimum needed to carry the for mation; with no extras. Detachments that come with Rhinos will be
noted as having plus transport in the units section of the army list below.
You may choose to replace a detachments Rhinos with Drop Pods. If you do this then the detachment will enter play in a Drop Pod using the rules for Planetfall (see section 4.4 of the Epic:
Armageddon main rule book). Note that if you choose to do this you will also require at least one Space Marine Strike Cruiser to deploy the Drop Pods from.
Also note that you dont have to take Rhinos if you dont want to. If youd rather field the formation on foot instead (so it can act as a garrison, for example) then you may do so.
Choosing transport options is part of the army selection process. The decision to exchange options, even free ones, must be determined when the army list is determined.
1.1.5 Hit-and-Run Tactics
Eldar formations that take advance or double actions may choose to shoot either before or after each move. However, they may still only shoot once during the action. For example, an Eldar
formation taking an advance action could shoot and then move or move and then shoot, while a formation taking a double action could shoot and move twice, move twice and then sh oot, or move
then shoot and then move again. In addition, Eldar formations that win an assault are allowed to move any distance up to their speed value when they consolidate, rather than being limited to a move
of 5 cm as would normally be the case.
