Article 1: ULAR Facility Access-UCIrvine| Office of Research
UCI animal facilities are locked 24 hours a day, and are subject to
patrol by the UCI Police Department and UCIMC Security.
Article 2: Dont Let Animal Rights Restrict Biomedical ResearchNYTimes.com [Frankie Trull]
Scientists have and continue to strive to reduce the number of
animals in research, but the assistance of animals today remains
essential. So while we must protect pets from cruelty, we must also
ensure research is not mistakenly handcuffed in the process.
I have always been an animal lover and I have always been against
animal research. I know that there are other ways to find cures for the
medical world. Animals should not be kept as prisoners. There is a lot
of harm when these animals are used as research.
