Clculo de Apartarrayos (Surge Arrester Calculation)

A)

descrito en el IEEE C62.22, Guide for the Application of Metal-Oxide Surge Arresters for Alternating-Current Systems
(For Arrester Selection will be used the IEEE C62.22 procedures as show)

B)

Tensin Mxima de Operacin del Sistema:

123 KV de CFE Especificacin L0000-02, ver tabla 2 (From CFE Spec.L0000-02, see table 2)

(System Max Voltage Phase to Phase)

C)

Tensin Mxima de Fase a Neutro =

71 KV (Max. Voltage Phase to Neutral)

Margen de Seguridad:

5 %, Safety Margin

75 KV
(With a Safety margin of 5% we would select an Arreser of 76 KV MCOV as a minimum)

Clculo de la Separacin Mxima entre los Apartarrayos (Calculation of Maximum Separation

Between Surge Arrester and Main Substation Transformer)
A)

(The most effective location for any surge arrester is at the terminals of the equipment to be protected. For a variety of reasons, surge arresters
sometimes have to be located some distance away from the equipment, or sometimes one set of surge arresters may be used to protect more
than one piece of equipment.
Locating a surge arrester remote from the equipment to be protected reduces the protective margin. Depending on a number of factors, An
analysis has to be made to determine how far a surge arrester can be located away from the equipment and still provide adequate protection )

(To carry out this analysis well use the procedures described in Annex C from IEEE std C62.22)
