Torgy LNG Containment Systems

Torgy has developed an innovative design for LNG
storage and containment tanks
DNV Approved
Non-Pressurised IMO A or Pressurised IMO C
Highly volume efficient
Suitable for use as fuel systems, cargo systems for
carriers, bunker barges, floating storage, floating
power stations.

IMO Type A LNG Containment Tank

IMO Type A tanks are a form of non-pressurised, prismatic tank.
The tank consists of a stainless steel tank, held in position within a
space by stainless steel supports.
The internal walls of the space are insulated using a unique, high
thermal efficiency system of insulation panels.
The space used can be a purpose built chamber, or in the case of
ships or barges, the actual hull of the ship can be used.

Volume Comparison Between Similarly

Sized IMO A and IMO C Style Tanks
Built using similar principles to
LPG containment systems.
Up to 30% greater volume
efficiencies than IMO C Type
tanks
This is critical given the
additional volume of space
required for LNG as ship fuel
compared with running on fuel oil

Torgy Tank Support System

Torgys Patented support system ensures a stable and
cost effective installation.

Torgy Insulation and Tank Support

Solution
Torgys tank support system is unique and based upon
decades of experience in cryogenic insulation and
support systems for the oil and gas sectors.

In case of tank leakage,

secondary barrier will prevent
further leakage of LNG into the
panel.
The insulation is designed to take
full load from the tank.
The secondary barrier forms a
full surface to prevent any
leakage to enter the hull
structure
