wanted to let me know that its not easy until you warm their palms. paid rupees 200 yesterday which was
asked without any fear.

I think the issue that needs the main focus of media is what comes after the entire procedure explained here.
Most of the applicants are successful till the steps mentioned here. However, what worries them is what comes
after, the false reports of police if not bribed. The day we find success with that. It will be success. Helpful article

There was always the problem of documents, all sorts of nonsense was happening at the Regional
Passport Offices, not to mention the police verification (read harassment). Now the Passport Office
nonsense is gone, hope the problem with Police Verification is also solved!

In continuation of my previous comment, I was trying to get a passport for my nephew in 2011 as he was to
go to INSEAD Paris as a transfer student, but the Police wala threatened that without a bribe to police even
the President of India would not be able to get a passport. Such was the bragging

Guys what you have not seen other points of bribery for passport that has been eliminated. 1.Application Form:
Queue early or get in black from those guys 2. Want to check status everytime join long queue or bribe. 3. Police
bribery for verification Today we don't have item 1 and item 2 but still item 3. Why don't create a channel on
social media like Facebook and everyone just put the name of police officer name, thana, city, state. Secondly
you can get a character certificate from your local ward commissioner and approach police. Finally rather than
fighting against them you prefer to bribe them. I got my passport after quite a delay 15-16 years back but without
a single paisa of bribery.

All steps you've given are apt if you have all the identity and address proofs matching. for 1st time passport
applicants the birth certificate ,ssc certificate, their address and identity proofs should match alphabet wise else
