GOAL SETTING

The basis of mental training is a goal (goals)


Goals are the aim or purpose of the athletes

action (like wish, dream, or chose to achieve)


Its become framework that guides the
athlete training & competition
Is the way of the athlete to establishing a
consistent program for training & competition
It is also a powerful form of direction &
motivation
The effect of its system are cumulative (from
short to long term goals)

WHY NEED GOAL SETTING?


Athlete with specific and challenging goals have
better performance than athlete with easy goals
(no goals)
Goal-setting is not the ultimate solution to
everything
But, at the highest levels, this can be the different
between making it or not.
Goal-setting are influenced by the overall
motivation and attitude and they cant overcome
a negative attitude towards sports.

HOW TO MAKE GOAL SETTING?


Coaches should inform athlete about goal-setting
and its benefits.
Coaches should find out about:
1. What are the greatest/weakness of athlete?
2. Where the athlete ability level?
3. What aspects of sport are more enjoyable for
the athlete?
4. How much time is athlete willing to put into
practicing?
5. Is the athlete working hard?
6. What level does the athlete want to attain?

because Im expert in tennis game and I think
you can adopt and analogical this examples to
your sport.
