NFIE Summer Institute Fellows and Resident Scholars Programs
The NFIE Summer Institute and Resident Scholars program applications include a one page CV, a transcript, a one
page statement of intent, and a letter of endorsement and commitment from a faculty advisor. Please verify that
you have each of these items included in your application before submitting.

as a mentor during the Summer Institute period and take responsibility for the progress in the students
work. The letter of endorsement should explain why the student is qualified to participate and how the
experience of participating in the NFIE will benefit the students research.

NFIE Summer Institute Visiting Scholars Program

The NFIE Summer Institute Visiting Scholars Program application includes a one page CV, a transcript, a project
description, and a letter of endorsement and commitment from a faculty advisor. Please verify that you have
each of these items included in your application before submitting.

summer institute

A Letter of Endorsement/Commitment from a faculty advisor. The faculty advisor must be willing to act
as a mentor during the Summer Institute period and assist the student in completing the proposed
project. The letter of endorsement should explain why the student is qualified to participate and how
the experience of participating in the NFIE will benefit the students research.
