ANTECEDENTES
El proyecto Instalacin de Riego Tecnificado en los sectores de Sambaray

Alto, Centro y Margaritayocc data como anhelo de agricultores de la zona desde el

ao 1970 aproximadamente, como prioridad de proyecto de riego para los beneficiarios
de esta localidad. Por tanto los estudios para el aprovechamiento hdrico de las aguas
provenientes de los escurrimientos superficiales y laderas mojadales discurren por la
quebrada cuya denominacin es
juntamente

el Riachuelo

con otros riachuelos a la quebrada

San Juan, es a la vez afluente

Pasapacana y forman el Ro

Pasapacana.
La Municipalidad Provincial de la Convencin, preocupada por la falta de
recurso hdrico para riego en Sambaray ha dispuesto la formulacin del estudio de
perfil tcnico bajo las normas tcnicas del SNIP, el mismo que se presentar al
Proyecto de Sistema de Irrigaciones (PSI) para su respectivo financiamiento una vez
obtenida la viabilidad emitida por la OPI de la Municipalidad Provincial de La
Convencin.

1.1

OBJETIVOS

El presente informe tcnico del estudio tiene como objetivo principal determinar las:
a.

Determinacin de la disponibilidad hdrica

b.

Dimensionamiento de las obras de arte como: Bocatoma de captacin,

Acueductos y canoas con la finalidad de proyectar dimensiones adecuadas y optimas

en cada obra de arte, su profundidad de cimentacin y las protecciones necesarias que
nos permitan el funcionamiento adecuado.
1.2

ESTUDIO DE DISPONIBILIDAD HIDRICA

Vsquez (2000), seala que la disponibilidad de recurso hdrico; es la cuantificacin de

agua que se dispone en un sistema hidrolgico para abastecer la demanda de un
usuario del agua. Esta cantidad puede provenir directamente de la lluvia o estar
disponible en los ros, quebradas o lagunas. La demanda puede ser poblacional (agua
potable), agrcola (cultivos), pecuaria (ganadera), piscigranja, hidroelctrica, etc. Como
se puede apreciar, el uso del agua es mltiple dentro de una cuenca y/o microcuenca.
En el caso agrcola, cuando la disponibilidad del agua en una regin

est dada

exclusivamente por la lluvia para abastecer la demanda de agua de los cultivos se

dice que esta regin tiene una agricultura en secano, ste se presenta en la sierra o
selva que son regiones que registran una cantidad de lluvia alta pero de rgimen

irregular. Pero cuando la disponibilidad de agua se toma de flujos superficiales para

regar los cultivos se dice agricultura bajo riego, normalmente en regiones de la costa.
1.2.1

INFORMACION BASICA DEL AREA DE ESTUDIO

1.2.1.1 Estudios preliminares

El estudio se inicia con la recopilacin de informacin bsica disponible tanto en
gabinete como en campo relacionada a aspectos hidrometeorolgicos, topogrficos,
morfolgicos y otros, que permitan plantear la metodologa de trabajo adecuada con el
objeto de determinar los caudales mximos en las progresivas de inters.
El trabajo de campo desarrollado por el Consultor, resulta de fundamental
importancia pues ha permitido apreciar "in situ" la probabilidad de ocurrencia de
diversos caudales en funcin a indicadores fsicos presentes en el rea de inters,
adems se realizaron levantamientos topogrficos puntuales para cada obra de arte
considerado.
La principal limitacin para el desarrollo del presente estudio fue la inexistencia
y/o insuficiente informacin hidrometeorolgica en los puntos de inters. La situacin
anterior ha obligado al empleo de metodologas antes descritas.
1.2.1.2 Ubicacin del rea de estudio
El proyecto comprende la microcuenca de la; Quebrada San Juan, que se
originan de los escurrimientos superficiales y sub superficiales ocasionadas a partir de
las

precipitaciones

que

se

producen

en

el

mbito

aproximadamente a 2525 msnm.

1.2.1.3 Identificacin de sub cuencas de inters

La identificacin de los puntos de inters se realiz; una vez determinada o
procesada la informacin topogrfica recolectada de la fase de campo. Tal como se
puede observar el cuadro siguiente.

1.2.1.4 Delimitacin de cuencas

La delimitacin de cuenca se hizo siguiendo las lneas divisorias de las aguas y
teniendo en cuenta que las lneas de flujo son perpendiculares a las curvas de nivel del
terreno y hasta un punto del curso del ro principal que sirve como emisor de las aguas
que caen en esta cuenca. Toda cuenca delimitada por una lnea formada por los puntos
de mayor nivel topogrfico y que cruza a las corrientes de flujo en los puntos de salida,
esa lnea recibe el nombre de DIVORTIUM AQUARUM (limite de cuenca).
Procedimiento:
a. Esta operacin se realiz sobre la carta nacional a curvas de nivel de la cuenca
considerada para su estudio respectivo. Escala 1/100 000, en el UTM, WGS84
Datum.
b. Luego el trazado de las lneas divisorias llamado tambin lnea de contorno de la
cuenca vertiente relativo a un punto.
En principio debemos distinguir entre: divisoria topogrfica y divisoria hidrolgica.

El primero seria la lnea que separa las aguas que superficialmente llegan de
punto estudiado de las que pasaran a otras cuencas. Mientras que la divisoria
hidrogrfica tiene en cuenta, adems, el recorrido del agua infiltrada en el terreno.
Normalmente salvo en zonas de caliza fuertemente caustificadas, en las que la
delimitacin de las divisorias coincide sensiblemente, por lo que nos limitaremos a dar
unas reglas prcticas para el trazado de la divisoria topogrfica.
La lnea divisoria corta ortogonalmente a las curvas de nivel.
Cuando la divisoria va incrementando el valor en su altitud corta las curvas de nivel
por su parte convexa. Mientras que cuando la altitud de la divisoria va
desminuyendo, esta corta a las curvas de nivel por su parte cncava.
Si cortamos el terreno por el plano normal a la divisoria, el punto de interseccin
con esta ha de ser el punto de mayor altitud del terreno. Como comprobacin, la
lnea divisoria nunca debe cortar a un ro, arroyo, excepto en el punto del que
queremos obtener su divisoria.
1.2.1.5 Planimetrado o determinacin del rea de la cuenca
El planimetrado de una cuenca, se realiza para conocer el rea de una cuenca,
esta rea es limitada por el DIVORTIUM AQUARUM parte aguas y la medicin que
se hace realmente en su proyeccin sobre un plano horizontal, utilizndose para ello
el planmetro y expresando los resultados generalmente en kilmetros cuadrados
cuando las cuencas son de grandes extensiones de rea, aunque tambin se
acostumbra expresarla en hectreas, sobre todo tratndose de cuencas pequeas.
1.2.1.6 Informacin Hidrometeorolgica obtenida
La informacin hidrometeorolgica obtenida tuvo como base la informacin de
precipitacin registrada por el Servicio Nacional de Hidrolgia y Meteorologa
(SENAMHI). Las cuales han sido brindados en su oportunidad al Proyecto Plan Meris
Inka, cuya informacin base lo constituyeron las estaciones meteorolgicas de:
Quillabamba, Huyro, Maranura y Machupikchu, con los cuales se hizo el anlisis de
precipitacin regional. Estos registros van adjuntos en anexos.
1.2.1.7 Precipitacin generada
La informacin hidrometeorolgica se gener en los puntos de inters del
proyecto, para el cual se emple el Modelo Deterministico USA, desarrollado en 1966,

denominado tambin como el modelo de generacin de caudales precipitacin

escurrimiento. Estos registros van adjuntos en anexos.
Cuyas ecuaciones que dieron origen a registros de esta precipitacin se muestran a
continuacin.

Cuando se requiere obtener datos mensuales

de caudales, la frmula del

mtodo racional ya no es suficiente. En ste caso es necesario utilizar un modelo que

posea las caractersticas de autocorrelacin que presentan los caudales mensuales.
esto se puede conseguir mediante el uso de un modelo Precipitacin Escorrenta, a
travs de la siguiente relacin:

Z Nmero aleatorio con media igual a cero y desviacin estndar igual a uno
(0, 1).

Este mtodo permite obtener buenos resultados en la sierra peruana y tambin

en zonas de selva alta. Es prctico, porque utiliza datos de precipitacin mensual que
se encuentra disponible en todas las estaciones meteorolgicas del pas. Cuyos datos
de caudal generados se muestran en cuadro anexo.

1.3

DETERMINACION DE LOS CAUDALES MAXIMOS

La ocurrencia de caudales extraordinariamente altos o caudales mximos

instantneos en cada subcuenca considerada, en todo el mbito del proyecto se

determinaran por dos metodologas tradicionales que son el modelo de la formula
Racional y el modelo del Hidrograma sinttico de Snyder que detallaremos a
continuacin.
1.3.1

MTODO FORMULA RACIONAL

El mtodo de la formula Racional da buenos resultados en cuencas pequeas,

como los considerados en este proyecto, se usa para la determinacin de mximas

descargas instantneas, se basa en que los valores de caudales mximos
instantneos tienen una relacin directa con el rea de cuenca y sus parmetros
geomorfolgicos

ms representativos

y en

consecuencia

pueden

formularse

ecuaciones simples en funcin del rea.

Para la utilizacin del Mtodo Racional en las subcuencas donde existe
carencia de informacin hidromtrica. Se ha procedido de la siguiente manera:

C = coeficiente de escorrenta
I = Intensidad de la Lluvia mm/h
A = rea de la subcuenca en has.
El coeficiente de escorrenta es la variable menos precisa del Mtodo Racional
su uso en la formula implica una relacin fija entre la tasa de escorrenta pico y la tasa
de lluvia para la subcuenca de drenaje. La proporciona de la lluvia total que alcanzaran
los drenajes de tormenta depende del porcentaje de permeabilidad, de la pendiente y
de las caractersticas de encharcamiento de la superficie.
El coeficiente de escorrenta tambin depende de las caractersticas y las
condiciones del suelo, La tasa de infiltracin disminuye a medida que la lluvia contina.
Este parmetro se obtiene a travs de tablas elaboradas y se corrobora con la visita en

campo obtenindose valores que fluctan entre 0.4 0.45.

El parmetro de la intensidad se obtuvo a travs de dos metodologas, primero
se calcularon los tiempos de concentracin con las siguientes expresiones:

Las cuales se consideraron igual al tiempo de duracin, con dichos resultados
se ingresaron al cuadro de intensidades que esta en funcin del tiempo de duracin y
el periodo de retorno considerado. Finalmente obtenindose las diferentes intensidades
interpolando.

La segunda metodologa para determinar la intensidad de lluvia en la zona se

determin a travs del Estudio de la Hidrologa del Per, Volumen III, elaborado por
IILA-SENAMHI-UNI, en base a datos de precipitacin mxima e intensidad de lluvia
registrados en diversas estaciones del pas.

El mencionado estudio ha dividido el

territorio en zonas y subzonas (el mapa se presenta en el anexo), cada zona con
ciertos parmetros definidos.
1.3.2

MTODO DEL HIDROGRAMA SINTTICO DE SNYDER

Snyder llev a cabo un estudio en la regin de los Montes Apalaches, en cuencas que
varan entre 30 y
30000 Km2, habiendo encontrado relaciones emptricas para las caractersticas ms
resaltantes del hidrograma unitario estndar. A partir de las relaciones, pueden
calcularse

cinco

caractersticas

del

hidrograma

unitario

requerido

para una

precipitacin efectiva con una duracin determinada:

Caudal pico por unidad de rea: qpR
Tiempo de retardo o tiempo pico: tpR (tiempo medido desde el centroide del

hietograma de lluvia efectiva al pico del hidrograma resultante)

Tiempo base del hidrograma: tp
Los anchos W (en unidades de tiempo) del hidrograma unitario al 50 y 75% del caudal
pico.
Utilizando estas caractersticas puede dibujarse el bidrograma unitario requerido. Las
variable, se ilustran en figura.

Snyder defini el hidrograma unitario estndar como aquel cuya duracin de lluvia
tr est relacionada con el retardo de la cuenca tp, por:

Para este caso, Snyder encontr las siguientes relaciones:
El tiempo de retardo de la cuenca:

donde tp, est en horas, L es la longitud del cauce principal en Km. desde la salida de
la cuenca hasta la divisoria de aguas arriba, Lc es la distancia desde la salida de la
cuenca hasta el punto del cauce ms cercano al centroide de la cuenca en Kxn, C1 =
0.75 y Ct es un coeficiente obtenido en base a cuencas instrumentadas en la misma
regin.
El caudal pico por unidad de rea en m3/s.km2 del hidrograma unitario estndar es:

donde C2 = 2.75 y Cp, es un coeficiente obtenido en base a cuencas instrumentadas

en la misma regin.
Para calcular Ct y Cp de una cuenca instrumentada, los valores de L y L0 se miden
utilizando el mapa de la cuenca. A partir de un hidrograma unitario deducido se
obtienen los valores de su duracin efectiva tR en horas, su tiempo de retardo en la
cuenca tpR en horas y su caudal pico por unidad de rea qpR, en m3/s.Km.cm. Si tpR
= 5.5tR, entonces tR = tr, tpR= tp y qpR = qp y Ct y Cp se calculan utilizando las
ecuaciones anteriormente descritos. Si tpR es muy diferente de 5.5tR, el tiempo de
retardo estndar es:

Resolviendo las ecuaciones

anteriores se obtienen tt y tp. Luego se calculan los

valores de Ct y Cp de con qpR = qp y tpR = tp.

Los coeficientes Ct y Cp de cuencas con estaciones de medida pueden utilizarse en las
ecuaciones anteriores para deducir el hidrograma unitario sinttico requerido para la
cuenca sin informacin.
La relacin entre qp y el caudal pico por unidad de rea qpR del hidrograma unitario
requerido es:

El tiempo base tb del hidrograma unitario puede determinarse utilizando el hecho de

que el rea bajo el hidrograma unitario es equivalente a una escorrenta directa de 1
cm. Suponiendo una forma triangular para el hidrograma unitario, el tiempo base puede
estimarse por:

donde C3 = 5.56.
El ancho en horas de un hidrograma unitario a un caudal igual a cierto porcentaje del
caudal pico qpR est dado por:
W =CWqpR^(-1.08)
donde Cw = 1.22 para un ancho del 75% y 2.14 para un ancho del 50%. Usualmente
un tercio de este ancho se distribuye antes del momento en que ocurre el pico del
hidrograma unitario y dos tercios despus de dicho pico.

a 5 Km2; por lo tanto usaremos estos datos para el diseo de la obras de arte.

Para los diseos de estas obras de arte tener en consideracin la entrada de los
riachuelos o manantiales segn los levantamientos puntuales realizadas.

b.

A la salida de cada obra de arte proyectar su proteccin correspondiente para

evitar socavacin cuando ocurran los eventos mximos, ya que la plataforma de
acceso se encuentra junto al canal principal.
