MUSIC EXPERIENCE
1992 Enrolled with the Royal Schools of Music, London and passed Theory
of Music with distinction.
1994 Enrolled for practical exams in Alto-Saxophone and passed with
merit.
1995 Became the Music Director, a senior musician, and led the military
band through the processes of amalgamation of forces in South
Africa.
1996 A panel of adjudication team in the Eastern Cape and conducted choral
music workshops for schools and song interpretation.
1998 Joined UCT Opera School and graduated in diploma (Performers
Diploma in Music) Voice studies.
2002 Enrolled for the degree and graduated in Bmus.Honours in
Musicology.
Attended a workshop on African music transcription conducted by
Andrew Tracy in the ILAM (International Library for African Music),
Grahamstown.
2003 Presented a music paper for publication on the influences of African
music elements within the Anglican church worship, sponsored by
NRF (National Research Fund).

Presented a paper on impact of missionaries on African music education


in South Africa, sponsored by SSARN (Swedish-South African Research
Network), in Pretoria.
Volunteered to teach wind instrument and voice training subsequently
established wind ensemble and choir in the centre for orphaned children
in my home town.
Taught music in a Junior secondary school, started a choir for the
School choir competition and established a Marimba band.
Adjudicated the bands in the Western Cape during their three (3)
week competitions of Battle of the Bands Competition.
Performed solo part in the Christmas Cantata Night of Miracles
with choir and chamber orchestra by John Williams in Cape Town and
Worcester.
Taught music in grades 8-12 and established and established a woodwind ensemble in the Performing Arts School in Khayelitsha.
Joined UNISA Music Teachers Examinations board.
Registered a group of students for the theory of music examinations in
UNISA Examinations, still active.
