ABSTRACT
The discovery of the ABO blood group in 1900 by Austrian scientist
Karl Landsteiner, caused great excitement in the scientific community
of the time. Until then, all blood is considered the same in all people,
not the often tragic consequences of blood transfusions were
understood. With the discoveries made in the ABO blood group, not
only blood transfusion in the world was safer, but allowed the study of
one of the first major human hereditary characteristics discovered in
medicine. The ABO blood group has also been used for confirming
paternity tests for the study of victims in forensics, and
anthropologists in the study of diverse populations. The ABO blood
group antigens are of great importance in transfusion medicine; are
the most immunogenic of all blood group antigens, making the ABO
incompatible blood transfusion in the most common cause of death
INTRODUCCCIN
MARCO HISTRICO
DELIMITACIN DE LA INVESTIGACIN:
ANTECEDENTES:
