Committee on Student Organizations, Fraternities, and Sororities
RATIONALE
The Committee on Student Organizations, Fraternities, and Sororities or SOFS is one of the
standing committees of the University of the Philippines Cebu Student Council. It is currently
headed by the Vice Chairperson France Kevin Degamo and the UNISO Chairperson Paulo
Salada.
Its role is to convene all student organizations, both recognized and unrecognized by the OSA,
and make necessary activities or arrangements in order to gather the concerns of the
organizations and the same time forge unity among them in order to come up with campaigns.
Currently, it has a group of VolCorp who helps in the activities of the SOFS Committee. The
SOFS Committee is also responsible in linking with other UPCSC committees in order to launch
campaigns and serve the constituents.
Attached below are the activities of the committee for the 1 st semester of the academic year
2014-2015.

following week, the AOS
season 2 was a success,
emphasizing on the
effectiveness of the
Classroom Discussion.
During the plenary, the
organizations grouped
themselves according to
similarity of concerns in
order to work together in
crafting a resolution.
Altogether, the AOS
Season II was able to
come up with 13
resolutions which were
submitted by Chairperson
Dyan Gumanao during the
Consultative Committee
meeting with Dean Corro.
The body was able to
reach quorum with 29
participating
organizations.

and Paulo Salada, a third
year BA Mass
Communication Student,

Nagkahiusang Kusog sa
Estudyante.
The nominees were able
to submit their
GPOA/SPOA and vision
paper on time.
As agreed, the nominees
presented their GPOA and
vision paper.
Upon deliberation, Mr.
Paulo Salada was selected
as the UNISO
Chairperson.

enthusiastic of being part
of the committee.

present condition of the
Socialized Tuition System
and the education system
in the Philippines in
general.
