WILL WAR END IN 1942?
With the Democratic and Dictator
powers alligned against each other,
the War enters a new phase. When
will this War which has been
dragging on for more than two years
end has been engaging the attention
of people in most countries in the
world. We have several times shown
in the previous issues of The Astrologi-
cal Magazine that astrological evidence
points to the final victory of the Allies.
This deduction was based on a careful
consideration of the horoscopes of
King George VI, President Roosevelt,
Hitler and other Jeading figares of the
World. Moreover our deductions were
further supported by astrologico-his-
torical evidence, viz, victories of
Britain over the Spanish Armada,
Napolean and in the last Great War.
The conquest of nearly all the Euro-
pean countries by Germany, the pene-
tration of considerable parts of Euro-
pean Russia and the teteat of the
British expeditionary forces from the
west coast of Europe and some other
theatres of war, have filled many
minds with misgivings as to the issue
of this struygle. But we cling to what
we said in WORLD PREDICTIONS
FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS,
vis, “...after suffering travail and
tribulation, Britain will emerge out
successfully”. We also stated in the
August 1941 issue of The Astrological
Magazine that Stalin would” be
under some unfavourable planetary
influences till about the end of Novem-
ber 1941 and that things for Russia
would somewhat improve after this
time. We now find that Russia has
successfully repulsed the attacks
on Moscow and she has been offering
insuperable obstacles to the invaders.
For ithe first time Germans have met
with'their match and their nervousness
and the increasing lack of assurance
is evident from the tone of Herr
Hitler's speeches. ‘The tale of Russian
losses to which Hitler made reference
in his latest speech announcing the
declaration of war against U. S.A. is
as unbelievable as his boast of fini-
shing away with Russia soon’. A’
we said on page 367 of August |19/

fresh diversions of public interest are
being aitempted by the-pressure which
they are exerting on the Vichy
Government, The local discontent in
German occupied Europe is beginning
to assume serious proportions.
‘Thus Germany and her sympathi-
sers have upon the whole lost ground,
whereas the U.S, A Russia and
Britain have come closer together to
mark important advances in their joint
endeavour to put down the Nazis.
‘Apart from the good indications .of
planets, the dauntless spirit in which
the people of Britain are facing the
hardships, privations and losses and
their unshakable determination to
carry on the War till Hitler and bis
doctrines have been destroyed and the
co-operation of British Commonwealth,
India and U.S. A. justify a tone of
hopefulness so far a the outcome is
concerned.
‘There must of course be no relax:
ation of the war efforts in Britain, in
India and other Dominions. Such
concerted effort is necessary to break
the inherent strength of Hitler's horos-
cope, Astrology” does not preach
fatalism. Tt says that if the time ahead
is bad it can be made good or at least
the evil minimised by effort and will-
power.
‘A reference to the writings of illus-
tious authors of yore bearing on

inaction as some may be tempted to
suppose. Karma creates the initiative
in ourminds to put forth the maxi-
mum effort. Tf there is a war it is
traced to the sinful deeds (Bad Karma)
of the king and the people. And an
astrological chart simply indicates'the
resultant of such action. Man is a
free agent no doubt. His.own little
acts are the framers of his destiny.
‘The same principle applies to nations
also, whose destinies are governed by
kings, presidents and dictators who sit
at the helms of the governments, The
actions of these individuals go ander
the name of National Karma whose
importance should be recognised by
students of astrology, The ruthless

Dering the last Gréat War one
important event occurred, not on the
battlefield, which vitally ‘affected the
whole subsequent course of the war—
the declaration of war by the U.S. A.
This was of course in 1917. America
has entered into the present war also,
and many expect a change—for good—
in the course of the War. Let ns
study the astrological indications.
We have often shown in these
columns that a study of astrology in
combination with history reveals that
movements of certain planets, parti-
culatly the major ones, in certain
signs invariably coincide’ with. certain
;portant developments in the coun-
tries under the rulership of the
particular signs concerned. Ayal from
this there are so many’ astrological
considerations which enable us, to
anticipate, though not exactly in terms
of months and dates, but atileast
broadly in years, the trend of things
to come.
We shall not at present take into
account the astrological indications of
President Roosevelt
the war in the Pacific, which we may
assure readers, have elements favour-
able to the Allies. We shall discuss
this in our next issue. In the present
article we shall endeavour to show
astrologically the duration of the World

War. _In arriving at a conclusion the
following data are of importance to an
astrological student:
(1) Britain's declaration of war
on Germany on 3rd September 1939
at 11a, m. Summer Time,
(2) Germany's declaration of war
on Russia on 22nd June 1941 at
3-5 am,
(3) Japan's declaration of war on
Britain and U.S. A., on 8th December
1941 as from 6 AM.
(A), Britain’s declaration of war on
Japan on 8th December 1941 at
12-30 pat, G.M.T.
Since Japan declared war on both
U.S.A. and Britain, an estimate of this -
horoscope will, coupled with several
other considerations to follow shortly,
give us an idea of its probable duration:
A consideration of the planetary
cabinet for Chitrabhanu (1942-43) is 4
also necessary; for it reveals useful
information in regard to national astro-
logy. The planetary cabinet is formed
once every lunar yeae.
Each planet will get portfolio over
certain important functions. eg., when
the Sun becomes the king, political
conditions are adjusted by his spectal
influence. Sometimes, two or more
functions will become combined in the
same planet when a series of cthereal
currents wili be set afloat which intro:
duces chaos and confusion in the
political affairs of the world. A. con-
Sideration of the transits of the planets
in reference to zodiacal signs and
constellational points (Wakshatras), at
the commencement of every lunar year
reveals interesting details. By this
arrangement of Planetary Cabinet,
the planetary portfolios will be ever
changing and consequently their
indications will also remain constantly
varying. Planetary Cabinet_means
simply this. The seven planets willTHE ASTROLOGICAL MAGAZINE JANUARY 1942 5

Chitrabhanu, which commences. on
Monday, 16th March 1942 at about
55-30 Ghaties. Among the Hindus
sixty Tunar years constitute a cycle.
The first year of the cycle (Prabhava)
denotes the evolution of a new creative
force which apparently is supposed to
end in the last or sixtieth year—
(Akshaya) aiter getting fully matured
when again the new year gives rise to
a new force, Ia the second year
(Vibhava), this force is expanded. Tn
the third year (Sukla), it acquires new
vitality. In Bahudhanya this force
gives rise to good: crops and cheerful
conditions all over the world, Thus
the names are given for all the sixty
years indicative of the functions that
this force is supposed to do. The
following is the Planetary Cabinet for
the year Chitrabhanu in question :
Lord of Vegetation: cl
Grains—Mars; Lord of Juices—Saturn;
Lord of Clonds—Sun ; Lord of Metals
Jupiter; Lord of Cattle— Yama
Dharma.
From the above, it will be seen that
the Sun is the Commander-in-chief.
This will place the interests of royalty,
aristocracy and the monied men i
great jeopardy. The following is the
horoscope for the commencement of the
new Lunar Year.

Lord of the ascendant is in the
fourth with Mars and Jupiter. This
powerful combination of three major
planets in the same sign is indicative
of huge battles in all the theatres of
war. The circumstance of Mars be-
coming the king and the Sun becoming
the commander-in-chief will bring un-
rest among people, revolutions, strikes,
lure of crops ‘and stringency of
money. The conjunction of three
planets in Taurus pourtrays death of
kings, important personages and indi-
cates’ revolutions and insurrections in

Behe Tinfiations of astrology as. at
present developed, in its application to
mundane affairs ‘should not be Jost
sight of. In all astrological interpreta-
tions, we are dealing with purely
abstract symbols. The general classi-
fication of the events of a given period
are capable of indication. Therefore
we cannot-hope to do more than esti-
mate possibilities in so"Yar as the exact
form of future events is concerned.
With these mental reservations we
shall sum up the above observations
‘The so called ‘New Order’ of Hitler
for the enslavement of Humanity will
be brought crashing to jhe ground.
Almost throughout the whole of Europe
the flame of death and destruction will
Hare up in the desperate fight for free-
dom against the tyranny of the Nazis.
‘The democracies surpass the dicta-
torships in numerical strength; but to
their superiority in this respect should
be added economic factors such as raw
materials, food supplies, etc., and also
psychological factors tepresented by
powers of endurance and singleness of
purpose. These economic and psycho-
logical factors coupled with astrological

ones all operate in favour of the
Democracies. Every one knows that
there can be no civilisation ina world
domineered by the Nazis and Fascists
and towards the destruction of Nasism
and other similar doctrines should all
our efforts be directed,
Encirclement has been the neu-
rotic excuse for every aggression
committed by Hitler, Mussolini and
of course Japan too. At the end of two
years of War, Hitler seems to be really
encircled at’ last. In spite of the
succession of victories scored by him,
Hitler does not know where he is or
when he will end the war. Perhaps he
already feels that the war will end
him.
As we have said above, when there
is a concurrence of directions of
similar significance as_about the time
Jupiter finally enters Cancer, one may
feel that a prediction isnot altogether
without warrant.
