explorando% as% vrias% possibilidades% do% seu% prprio% corpo% e% movimento,% o% que% resultou% numa%
linguagem% artstica% pessoal% e% inovadora,% sendo% considerada% uma% nova% e% peculiar% voz% no% teatro% de%
marionetas%contemporneo.%
Corpo,%Marioneta%e%Manipulao%c%%um%workshop%sobre%o%movimento%e%a%manipulao,%que%utiliza%
como%material%principal%o%ser%humano%c%sobre%o%desconhecido%que%todos%pensamos%conhecer.%
O%processo%de%trabalho%especfico%no%teatro%com%marionetas%ou%objectos,%iniciacse%sempre%a%partir%de%
determinado%material%ou%objecto,%como,%por%exemplo,%terra%ou%plstico.%Este%mtodo%ser%analisado%
atravs% da% improvisao,% como% este% pode% ser% animado% e% manipulado,% de% forma% a% fazer% o% pblico%
pensar%que%est%vivo.%
Destas% improvisaes% com% diferentes% materiais,% vo% surgir% figuras,% imagens,% movimentos.%
Desenvolvecse%uma%linguagem%teatral%prpria.%
O% prprio% corpo% humano% ser% o% objecto% de% determinao,% uma% marioneta% que% ser% animada% e%
manipulada.%Vrias%pessoas%movem%uma%pessoa,%doclhe%impulsos,%emprestamclhe%o%seu%discurso%e%
os%seus%pensamentos.%
O%mistrio%do%movimento%ser%determinado:%sou%eu%que%me%movo%ou%algum%ou%alguma%coisa%me%faz%
mover?%
Este%workshop%permitir%uma%incurso%%abordagem%teatral%caracterstica%da%companhia%Meinhardt%
&%Krauss.%
Vamos% manipular% os% corpos% uns% dos% outros,% como% se% fssemos% marionetas,% com% fios,% varas% ou%
manipulao% directa...% mas% vamos% tambm% emprestar% partes% do% nosso% corpo% a% diferentes%
marionetas.%

The%works%of%Iris%Meinhardt%mix%dance,%puppets,%manipulation%and%new%technologies,%exploring%the%
various% possibilities% of% her% own% body% and% movement,% which% has% resulted% on% a% personal% and%
innovative% artistic% language.% She% is% considered% a% new% and% peculiar% voice% in% contemporary% puppet%
theatre.%
Body,% Puppet% and% Manipulation% c% Human% Body% c% Human% Doll:% a% workshop% on% the% movement% and%
manipulation,%with%the%material%"human%being",%about%the%unknown%in%what%we%all%well%know.%
The% specific% working% process% of% theatre% with% puppets% or% materials% always% starts% from% a% material% or%
object,% for% example,% clay% or% plastic.% This% will% be% examined% through% Improvisation,% how% it% can% be%
animated%and%manipulated%to%make%the%audience%think%it%is%alive.%
Out% of% these% improvisations% with% different% materials,% figures,% pictures,% movements% arise.% An% own%
theatrical%speech%develops.%
In%this%workshop%the%human%body%itself%will%be%the%object%of%determination.%It%will%be%estimated%to%be%
a% puppet% that% will% be% animated% and% manipulated.% Many% persons% move% one% person,% give% him%
impulses,%borrow%their%speech%and%their%thoughts.%
The% mystery% of% movement% will% be% determined,% do% I% move% myself,% or% am% I% moved% by% someone% or%
something?%
This%workshop%will%give%an%insight%in%the%theatrical%approach%from%Meinhardt%&%Krauss.%
We%will%animate%each%others%bodies,%as%if%we%were%puppets,%with%sticks,%strings,%directly%but%we%will%
also%lent%parts%of%our%bodies%to%different%dolls.*

A% companhia% Meinhardt% &% Krauss% foi% criada% em% 2003% e% % composta% pela% actriz% Iris% Meinhardt,% o%
encenador% e% videasta% Michael% Krauss% e% o% compositor% e% msico% Thorsten% Meinhardt.% Os% seus%
espectculos% so% tudo% menos% fceis,% caracterizados% por% uma% singularidade% e% um% grande% cuidado%
esttico%e%tcnico,%movendocse%entre%o%teatro,%cinema,%novas%tecnologias%e%a%composio%de%msica%
original.%As%suas%produes%tm%sido%apresentadas%em%vrios%festivais%internacionais%e%j%ganharam%

ao% aliar% uma% tcnica% perfeita% a% uma% incrvel% leveza% visual,% tendo% obtido% rapidamente% um% grande%
sucesso.%
Iris% Meinhardt% estudou% teatro% de% marionetas% na% University% of% Music% and% Performing% Arts% Stuttgart.%
Trs% anos% antes% de% se% formar,% estreou% internacionalmente% o% espectculo% Bing",% um% solo% com%
projeces% e% texto% de% Samuel% Beckett,% afirmandocse% desde% logo% como% uma% voz% nova% e% distinta% no%
teatro% de% marionetas% e% formas% animadas% contemporneo,% pela% combinao% singular% de% elementos%
coreogrficos%e%cinematogrficos,%entre%outras%caractersticas.%
No%FIMFA%Lx13%c%Festival%Internacional%de%Marionetas%e%Formas%Animadas%apresentou%o%espectculo%
R.O.O.M.%
As% tcnicas% preferidas% de% Iris% so% a% projeco% de% vdeo% e% o% teatro% de% objectos.% As% suas% criaes%
misturam%manipulao,%dana%e%novas%tecnologias.%O%resultado%oscila%entre%as%artes%do%espectculo%e%
a% instalao% de% arte% visual.% Em% cada% criao% explora% as% diferentes% possibilidades% de% encenar% o% seu%
prprio%corpo,%desenvolvendo%uma%pesquisa%artstica%muito%pessoal.%

In%2003,%Iris%Meinhardt,%Michael%Krauss%and%Thorsten%Meinhardt,%founded%the%company%Meinhardt%&%
Krauss.%Their%performances%are%not%easy,%characterized%by%their%uniqueness%and%for%a%great%technical%
and% aesthetic% care,% moving% between% theatre,% cinema,% new% technologies% and% original% music%
composition.%Their%productions%have%been%presented%at%various%international%festivals%and%they%have%
won%several%awards.%
Iris%Meinhardt%studied%puppetry%at%the%University%of%Music%and%Performing%Arts%Stuttgart.%Three%years%
before%graduating,%she%premiered%internationally%the%show%"Bing",%a%solo%with%projections%and%text%by%
Samuel% Beckett,% affirming% herself% soon% as% a% new% and% distinct% voice% in% the% contemporary% puppet%
theatre,% by% combining% singular% choreographic% and% cinematographic% elements,% among% other%
characteristics.%
Iris% preferred% techniques% are% the% video% projection% and% object% theatre.% Her% works% are% a% mixture% of%
manipulation,% dance% and% new% technologies.% The% result% falls% between% the% performing% arts% and%
installation%art.%In%each%creation%she%explores%the%possibilities%of%staging%her%own%body%and%develops%a%
very%personal%artistic%research.%

seleccionados% em% funo% do% seu% currculo% e% experincia.% A% inscrio% % internacional% e,% devido% %
seleco,% quer% dos% formadores,% quer% dos% participantes,% rene% diversas% disciplinas% artsticas,%
permitindo%o%encontro%da%marioneta%com%as%outras%artes.%
O% teatro% de% marionetas% contemporneo% cruza% diversas% tcnicas% de% manipulao% ou% campos%
artsticos.% As% tcnicas% tradicionais% de% manipulao% so% reinventadas.% O% actorcmanipulador% tem% que%
saber%controlar%e%manipular%o%seu%corpo,%a%sua%voz%e,%simultaneamente,%apropriarcse%da%diversidade%e%
liberdades%estticas%que%o%teatro%de%marionetas%e%formas%animadas%permite.%

Movimento,%dirigido%por%Francesca%Sorgato%e%Flop%Lefebvre;%e%Atrs%do%ecr:%a%sombra%e%o%teatro%de%
sombras,%dirigido%por%Fabrizio%Montecchi,%do%Teatro%Gioco%Vita,%um%dos%grandes%mestres%do%teatro%
de%sombras.%Em%2013%Agns%Limbos%e%Nicole%Mossoux,%da%Cie%MossouxcBont,%dirigiram%o%workshop%
O%Corpo%face%ao%Objecto.%Thomas%Lundqvist,%considerado%o%maior%especialista%europeu%de%Bunraku,%
coordenou%em%2014%o%workshop%Bunraku:%Anatomia%e%Manipulao.%

international% workshops% designed% for% professionals% selected% on% the% basis% of% their% curriculum% and%
experience.% The% inscription% is% international% and% due% to% the% selection% of% the% trainers% and% trainees,%
combines% puppetry% with% other% art% forms.% The% contemporary% puppet% theatre% combines% many%
manipulation% techniques% or% artistic% fields.% The% traditional% manipulation% techniques% are% reinvented.%
The% puppeteer% must% know% how% to% control% and% manipulate% both% his% body% and% voice,% and,%
simultaneously,% taking% advantage% of% the% diversity% and% aesthetic% freedoms% from% puppetry% and%
animated%forms.
The% first% set% of% workshops% was% held% in% 2010,% with% Stephen% Mottram% and% Agns% Limbos,% two% very%
important%creators%in%contemporary%puppetry%and%objects%theatre.%In%2011%took%place%the%workshop%
held% by% the% American% Jim% Kroupa,% one% of% the% most% famous% and% prestigious% puppeteer% and% puppet%
builder% who% has% worked% on% several% Muppet% projects% on% building% mechanisms% for% puppets.% In% 2012%
took%place%the%workshops%Creating%theatre%for%young%audiences:%light%and%movement%directed%by%
Francesca% Sorgato% and% Flop% Lefebvre;% and% Behind% the% screen:% introduction% to% shadow% and% to% the%
shadow%theatre%directed%by%Fabrizio%Montecchi,%from%Teatro%Gioco%Vita,%one%of%the%great%masters%of%
shadow%theatre.%Agns%Limbos%and%Nicole%Mossoux,%from%Cie%MossouxcBont,%directed%the%workshop%
The%Body%and%the%Object%in%2013.%Thomas%Lundqvist,%regarded%as%the%European%greatest%specialist%
