Full of thrust, its elegant form hugs the road. M-typical details, including

engine note rises. The standard '' wheels transfer the powerful

M TwinPower eight-cylinder petrol engine develops kW (hp),
and torque of up to Nm. This is converted by the seven-speed
M Double Clutch transmission with Drivelogic into acceleration that
is truly exceptional, even for a sports car at this level. Additionally,
the gear-shifting strategy is optimised through use of navigation
data, further enhancing the driving experience. Other innovations
include the Active M Differential for greater dynamics and M Drive

driver-orientated ergonomics. With the iDrive Controller, in conjunction
with the Navigation system Professional, for instance, you can

Lightweight carbon roof.

The roof made from carbon bre-reinforced
plastic (CFRP) also simply called carbon
is an extraordinary feature of the BMW M
Gran Coup. Its contours guide airow and
therefore improve aerodynamics. This, in
itself, is impressive. But the weight saving
is even more so. Thanks to a resin-coated
weave of microscopically ne carbon bres,
the roof is around per cent lighter than
steel. As a result it lowers the cars centre
of gravity and signicantly renes driving
performance.

Competition package.
The optional new Competition package increases
the sportiness of this extraordinary vehicle with a
power boost of kW (hp) and even more direct
and communicative steering. Discover the

Exclusive M design elements.

Making the unique character of the BMW M
Gran Coup clear to see: the chromed
double slats of the grille, the M-typical gill
elements with integrated indicators and
aerodynamically optimised M wing mirrors.
M leather steering wheel with
gearshift paddles.
Motor sport-style: shift paddles directly
on the steering wheel allow the driver to
engage all seven gears of the M Double
Clutch transmission without having to lift
off the accelerator. Gearshifts take place
without interruption in traction, imperceptibly
and within fractions of a second. With two
programmable M Drive settings on the
steering wheel, the driving characteristics
can also be individually adjusted from
maximum dynamics through to comfort.

The latest M cockpit technology denes the appearance of the interior. Striking features
include the multifunction M leather steering wheel, the M centre console with ergonomically
arranged controls for different M driving dynamics systems and the instrument cluster displaying,
among other features, the respective M Drive settings. Standard M seats with electric
adjustment already promise optimum comfort, while M multifunction active seats with climate
control are available on request.

The M TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder petrol engine. This, the most powerful of all the standard BMW engines, is distinguished by its
enormous performance, outstanding power delivery, running smoothness and free-revving character. The engine also sets the bar very high with
its performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio fully in line with the philosophy of BMW EfcientDynamics.

The BMW M Gran Coup.

The numbers speak for themselves: with hp (kW), and torque of up to Nm, the BMW M Gran Coup accelerates from to km/h in
only . seconds (.s with the optional Competition package). A high-revving engine, the M TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder petrol powerplant in the
BMW M Gran Coup makes a singularly forceful statement when it comes to performance and acceleration. The combined forces of M-typical linear
delivery and enormous thrust from the double turbocharger fully exploit the superb pulling power of the high-performance engine. Two separate and
generously dimensioned intercoolers cool the engine, the charge air and the engine electronics, while the patented M TwinScroll charging concept
ensures extraordinary responsiveness. Huge torque is available across a wide engine speed range with emphatic forward thrust on tap from just over
idle right through to high revs. Thanks to spectacular responsiveness, the engine always reacts eagerly to accelerator input, while the volume ow oil
pump ensures optimal lubricant delivery to the engine, even during high transversal acceleration. Thanks to the M TwinPower Turbo technology, which
combines the two TwinScroll turbochargers with Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High Precision Injection, the engine also sets benchmarks when it
comes to the performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio. In combination with further BMW EfcientDynamics measures, such as the Auto Start/Stop
function and intelligent alternator control, which charges the battery during braking and overrun, the result is average consumption of only . litres
per kilometres. And you will enjoy every metre, as the seductive M sound emphasises the unique character of these high-performance vehicles.

POLISHED TO PERFECTION.
THE M HIGH-PERFORMANCE CHASSIS.
Traditional rules do not apply to the BMW M Gran Coup. As an independent production of BMW M GmbH, it is faithful to the M philosophy
perfectly combining high performance with optimum, everyday practicality. To full these high demands, the intricately constructed M highperformance chassis has been redeveloped from the ground up.

Active M Differential.
This optimises traction at full power even on tight
bends, during high-speed cornering and on variable
road surfaces. An electronic control unit links the
active system with DSC and proactively ensures
the intelligent use of locking torque in every driving
situation. In this way, no drive power is wasted
and perfect handling is guaranteed.

M Carbon Ceramic Brake System.

The braking system, specially developed for the
M models, delivers exceptional performance
and is extremely resilient. At the same time, the
weight-reduced system impresses with lower
unsprung mass, maximum resistance to fade and a
long lifespan. The M Carbon Ceramic Brake System
can be identied by the matt gold-painted brake
calipers with M logo.
M Dynamic Damper Control.
The driver uses this system to adapt the
characteristics of the dampers to the driving
situation. In addition to the standard Comfort
setting, there are two programmes: Sport and
Sport+. These set the shock absorbers to a
rmer position, for an exciting, sporty ride.

M Dynamic mode.
Two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel offer
pre-programmed congurations for either a sporty
or a comfortable drive. One of these is M Dynamic
mode. For a particularly authentic driving experience,
it enables optimum use of longitudinal and lateral
dynamics potential by raising the intervention
threshold of the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
system. In this way, it only intervenes in critical
situations.

BMW HEAD-UP DISPLAY

KEEP YOUR FOCUS ON THE ROAD.
The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects driving information into
the drivers eld of vision. In this way, attention is always focused on the
road ahead. Information displayed includes current speed, navigation
instructions, Speed Limit Info incl. no-overtaking indicator, Check Control
messages and infotainment notices.

SPEED LIMIT INFO

A WATCHFUL EYE.
This optional assistance system shows current speed limits and indicates
when overtaking is prohibited in the instrument cluster. A special camera
detects relevant trafc signs and the information, along with navigation data,
is processed by a control unit. Other components, such as the rain sensor
of the vehicle, are also used. This means that the system can even pick up
on variable speed limits in, for example, wet conditions so the driver can
effectively think ahead.

BMW NIGHT VISION

THE BENEFIT OF FORESIGHT.
An optional infrared camera in the double kidney grille detects people
and animals up to a distance of metres, directly displaying images
on the Control Display. Pedestrian recognition also gives a visual warning
to indicate if people are moving close to the road, up to a distance of
metres ahead. This means that the driver can recognise potential
danger signicantly earlier and react more quickly. The new Acute Warning
system helps in imminently critical situations, thereby offering even
greater safety.

ACTIVE PROTECTION
SAFETY IN DEPTH.
Active Protection comprises a number of vehicle safety features. In a
critical situation, for example, the safety belts are pre-tensioned, the seats
are moved to an upright position and the windows are closed. Following
an accident, the vehicle can also be automatically braked to a standstill.
Additionally, Attention Assistant monitors the drivers steering input and
responds with appropriate recommendations in the Control Display.

DRIVING ASSISTANT PLUS

LEAN BACK AND LEAVE THE ROAD TO YOUR BMW.
Driving Assistant Plus not only includes Approach Control Warning and
Lane Departure Warning but also Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go
function and the Trafc-queue assistant. This all increases comfort and
safety during motorway driving. The Navigation System Business or
Professional is required for Driving Assistant Plus.

PARK DISTANCE CONTROL (PDC)

IN A TIGHT SPOT? NO PROBLEM.
Parking and manoeuvring in conned spaces made easy. Park Distance
Control, front and rear, takes ultrasound measurements of the distance
to any obstacles, gives you an acoustic warning and shows the distance
between them and your car on the Control Display, depending on the
equipment installed.
