2014 IACCM: International Association for Contract and Commercial Management

The Global Demand for Commercial Excellence

The combination of shifting global markets, technology and economic conditions has fundamentally
changed the supply environment and how organizations conduct trading relationships. These conditions
are driving organizations to assess their current capabilities and seek opportunities to improve their
commercial awareness.

Big Issues Driving Commercial Management

Reduced competition due to market consolidation

The need to develop strong relationships with key commercial partners, to generate loyalty,
foster trust and secure reliability

The importance of innovation and continuous improvement through value chain integration

The importance of internal collaboration to ensure the information, empowerment and tools
needed to achieve these goals

A reduction in the focus on traditional contracting and commercial management because it is

increasingly automated, overseen by compliance software, or outsourced

A need to re-think the 'global / local' mix of authorities, relationships, contract models

The requirement to deliver executive management a compelling ROI on contract and

commercial activities

Welcome to IACCM!
IACCM has recently researched these areas and is eager share those results. The agenda today is not
about adversarial relationships but about achieving optimized outcomes from trading relationships
through relationship contracting. This agenda requires a much wider role that demands new skills,
procedures and thinking by the contracting and commercial management organization; behaviors that
foster trust and cooperation and leverage the best of both sides of an agreement.
IACCM provides its members with the tools, the knowledge and the support to enable sustained change
and deliver a more positive valuable outcome to your organization.
We look forward to welcoming you.

I've learned so much from you and your organization. The best thing we ever did was become a
member of IACCM. Thanks again for everything!

IACCM provides a resource which is almost incomparable to any other entity within the industry.
In terms of best practice, benchmarking and research I have found the site invaluable. Align that
with a strong training capability and the effort that goes into positioning commercial and contract
management as a vital corporate function, and there is no doubt that the IACCM and what it
stands for will raise our profile and engender with sensible corporations, the absolute necessity
to manage and measure and build on their contracting capabilities.
