Guidelines for Usage of AUTOGUARD

The below mentioned instructions are intended for your safety and optimal performance of AUTOGUARD. Please read the information
carefully before using AUTOGUARD
General
Warning! AUTOGUARD device may explode if device is exposed or dumped off in fire
Do not open the Plastic housing of AUTOGUARD, as this may affect the performance and warrantee of the product
Do not subject the AUTOGUARD device to extremely high or low temperature more than +70 degree or less than -20 degree
Do not expose your AUTOGUARD to open flames or other flammable gases
Do not drop, throw or try to bend AUTOGUARD device
Do not attempt to disassemble or modify AUTOGUARD device
Do not Disconnect / Move AUTOGUARD device from the place where it is fixed in your vehicle
Do not remove or Replace the SIM card inside AUTOGUARD as this may stop the unit from functioning
Do not solder or change electronic complaints of AUTOGUARD and its accessories
Check you vehicle Battery periodically as AUTOGUARD is fully dependent on vehicle battery for its Operations
Installation
Do not connect AUTOGUARD to external AC or DC power source other than your 12V vehicle battery
Always use standard accessories provided with AUTOGUARD including wire harness, relay and hooter
Do not use your AUTOGUARD device in an area where potentially explosive environment exists
Only authorized personnel Nominated by VAZHIKATTI Systems Limited shall carry out Installation & service on AUTOGUARD
Ensure that all wires are connected in reference with the diagram provided in the manual and ensure minimum stress on wires

Installation Procedure -Attention

Do not disassemble the device. If the device is damaged, the power supply cables are not isolated or
the isolation is damaged, before unplugging the power supply, do not touch the device.
This device must be firmly fastened in a predefined location

This device is susceptible to Water & Humidity if immersed completely

This device should be connected only by Authorized personnel.

This device must be powered from 12V Automotive Battery Supply only
Any installation and/or handling during a lightning storm is prohibited.
Do not replace or remove the SIM card inside the Device.

Important

Detailed User Guide of AUTOGUARD

The factory shipped device will not have any number stored, the owner needs to assign the primary number for the first time, this can be assigned from any number, once the primary number is assigned and confirmation received the secondary number can then be assigned from the
newly configured primary number. If the primary number is wrongly assigned for the first time then AUTOGUARD can not be used and
needs to be reseated remotely with the support of our call center.
In case GPS fix is not available (this could happen if the vehicle in which AUTOGUARD is fitted is in Basement or under thick vegetation)
AUTOGUARD will try to get the location of the GSM tower that its SIM card is associated to, such location retrieval are called as CELL-ID
location. During query of location via FIND command our server will clearly state weather the locations available is GPS based or CELLID based. GPS location are very accurate however CELL-ID location accuracy will depend on the closeness of the associated cellular tower
which could very from few meters up to few kilometers.
If Auto lock function is enabled then manual lock function via SMS will be disabled, similarly if Auto unlock function is enabled then manual
unlock via SMS will be disabled. During auto unlock function being enabled door opening* will act as unlock function instead of trigger or
alert function.
Dont send SMS commands continuously , It is strongly advisable to wait for confirmation SMS for the previously send command before
sending the next command as there are high possibility that AUTOGUARD will not process continuous commands and may delete such commands without action of confirmation.
During festival seasons or other peak time, there are possibility that the GSM service providers SMS gateways could be chokedand SMS
command sent to AUTOGUARD or send from AUTOGUARD may get delayed or not delivered. It is very important to understand that
AUTOGUARD functionally are fully based on SMS reception and transmission.
The location query command via FIND will normally take between 60 to 120 seconds to be delivered to the vehicle owner. Other commands
may take between 10 to 20 seconds, however the actual time may depend on the GSM operator and network availability.
Siren and Air condition control uses the same hardware circuit, hence only one function can work at any given point of time. If siren if disabled then A/C ON /OFF will work (using additional hardware), if SIREN is enabled then A/C ON/OFF will not work. The additional hardware required which includes a relay and wire harness needs to be purchased separately for authorized dealers.

Important:
Function such as Lock and Unlock are only virtual in nature, they have no relevance to actual Locking or Unlocking of vehicledoors etc.
If Reset command is issued, the entire stored configuration will be lost
AC On/Off will only function if siren is disabled (SI=N) as they share the common wire / Circuit*
Reboot AUTOGUARD only if necessary or during device malfunctioning
During Trigger or Alarm mode the vehicle will be automatically immobilized to prevent vehicle movement
ALL incoming call to AUTOGUARD from authorized and unauthorized numbers will be disconnected without any response or action
Commands send via SMS are not case sensitive, hence upper or lower or both the cases can be used to form a SMS
Grammatical error while typing the SMS command or sending a wrong command will be ignored and an SMS Invalid Command will
be send by AUTOGUARD to Authorized number
For every valid command sent; a reply confirmation will always be send by AUTOGUARD; however the reply time may vary based on
network availability and congestion
Command send to AUTOGUARD by numbers other than Primary and Secondary will be ignored and discarded
There are non space between text which form a command, all the text runs continuously
In case the owner loses or does not have access to both the primary and secondary number, call can be made to our Support Helpline to
reset the unit remotely
During locations query (FIND) if our server does not has correct address or GPS data received from AUTOGUARD is invalid, following
SMS will be send Locations not Available, Kindly retry later in such cases the owner can query AUTOGUARD for location after
few minutes
The Accuracy of Location are based on multiple factors such as Location of Vehicle (indoor or outdoor), Visible GPS satellites and other
environmental factors
In the location SMS, to view the location on a satellite or vector Map, Internet connection via GPRS or Wi-Fi is required
For any given command if there is no response from AUTOGUARD then there could be possibility that the AUTOGUARD is out of
network range or coverage area
If the device is not responding to command for a long time and its LED is in off state then it would be best to contact our support center
or your local dealer to get AUTOGUARD checked or repaired
If the device is removed from its wire harness the vehicle will be automatically immobilized
Every time the device is restarted or rebooted an SMS Powered Onwill be Sent to Primary number

AUTOGUARD can Store up to 2 phone numbers from which

it can be controlled (Authorized Numbers). These are called
as Primary and Secondary numbers. Both these numbers have
equal control with respect to AUTOGUARDs functionality.
Once configured AUTOGUARD will only accept SMS or
Call for these two numbers.

switch operator or opt for a new number by sending similar

AUTOGUARD has an embedded vibration / movement sensor. In case of vehicle movement this sensor will trigger
which in turn will send alert to user. This SMS can be used to
set the sensitivity of vibration sensor where 01being highest
sensitivity and 99 being the lowest. Users can choose to
change this values based on their needs and requirement

Auto Lock
AL=Y,02

Auto Lock as the name suggest can be used to automatically

Lock (Secure) the vehicle. This command can be configured
to be activated within specific time frame (01 minutes being
minimum and 60 being maximum) provided the ignition of
the vehicle is in off state, Door as closed and no moment is
detected. During Auto lock mode manual lock via SMS will
disabled. To disable Auto lock simple send (AL=N)

Auto Unlock function can be enabled to automatically unlock

the vehicle when doors are opened, Auto unlock can only be
enabled if Auto lock is enabled. During Auto unlock mode

To Secure/Lock the Vehicle

Users can Secure/Lock their vehicle Sending SMS to
AUTOGUARD. In case of movement, door Opening* and
ignition is detected during lock mode AUTOGUARD will
alert its owner by sending an alert SMS. Further the Siren
will make Hoot to scare the thief or alert the neighbors about
possible theft. If Auto lock is enabled then manual lock using
SMS will be disabled.

will automatically hoot for 10 seconds and stop. No confirmation SMS will be send for this command by
AUTOGUARD

To find the current location of vehicle the following SMS can

be send to AUTOGUARD. GPRS/3G equipped phone can
also view the vehicle location on MAP by clicking the map
link provided in the return SMS. AUTOGUARD can provide
two kinds of location query (GPS Based) & (CELL-ID
Based), depending on availability of GPS fix.

By using this command vehicle owner will be able to switch

off the A/C, once A/C is switched the same cannot be switch
ON using A/C button present inside the vehicle. For A/C
OFF command to work the Siren needs to be disabled suing
SI=N command, Additional hardware is required to enable
and disable which is not part of standard AUTOGUARD
