The life of Jesus is the model of and the standard
for the life of a Christian. Jehovah is our Father; [and] we are the clay, and He is our potter; and we all are the work of His hand. Isaiah 64:8. As He frames and shapes our characters, Jesus is the pattern. In essence, the goal of a Christian is to ultimately portray the life and character of Jesus. When the life of Christ is seen through a Christian, people would see the gracious and good works of that person, and they will glorify God. Matthew 5:16. Keep in mind that it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13. Which means, the good works that Jesus is speaking of in Matthew 5:16 are a result of grace operating in the life of a believer, teaching him that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, he should thus live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Titus 2:12. The fact that the standard of God is high is to never be a threat to a believer since grace that is sufficient to elevate him to that level would be provided to him as Living His Life www.bibletruthspot.blogspot.com

long as he remains humble and obedient to his
God. John writes, He that saith he abideth in Him [Jesus] ought himself also so to WALK, EVEN AS HE WALKED. 1 John 2:6. Paul says, As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so WALK YE IN HIM. Colossians 2:6. Read 1 Peter 2:21. Notice that Christians are expected to live a different kind of life. They are to be obedient children of the Most High God, not fashioning themselves according to the former lusts in their ignorance. 1 Peter 1:14. Read Ephesians 5:8. Jesus had gone through sufferings for our transgressions. Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows...He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him... Isaiah 53:4,5. Jesus sufferings and death is the payment for our sins. When we accept His sacrifice, we wont go through the SAME, for He paid it all. This is not to say we Living His Life www.bibletruthspot.blogspot.com

wont experience any sufferings or difficulties
here on earth, for we are told that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22. Read 2 Timothy 3:12; Revelation 12:17. The literal cross, He has carried for us; but the spiritual one is ours to bear. And He [Jesus] said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. Luke 9:23. We are to follow Jesus...the Lamb of God withersoever He goeth. John 1:29; Revelation 14:4. The Lamb is obviously headed towards the slaughter; and if we are following the Lamb withersoever He goeth, well also go towards the slaughter, and be crucified with Him. Thus well be able to say, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in Me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20. This is what it means to LIVE HIS LIFE; to die to self, and let Jesus have control over your life. Read 1 Corinthians 6:20. Living His Life www.bibletruthspot.blogspot.com

This is the battle against self, and it is the
greatest battle that was ever fought. But when we look at the life of Jesus, we see METHOD OF GAINING VICTORY OVER SELF. Yes, self has to be laid upon the altar, for Christ cannot reign when and where self reigns. The life of Jesus was a life of self denial; service to others; faithfulness; caring for others; a prayerful, obedient and humble life; and this ought to be our experience as well.
