In the wake of Eric Garners tragic death at the hands of the NYPD, the community has responded

Housing Works is also organizing a demonstration with the Audre Lorde Project that will
take place next week on Wednesday, December 17, to renew the call for transgender

This Saturday, advocates will join the "Millions March Against Police Brutality." The
Housing Works contingency will merge with our allies at Good Ole Lower East Side at the

Annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate
Monday, January 26, 2015
On Monday, January 26, 2015, advocates will join the NYC Department of Homeless
Services to conduct its annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE). We
need thousands of volunteers to canvass parks, subways, and other public spaces to
estimate the number of people living unsheltered in the city. Just one night of your
time will help us collect vital information for outreach teams to help homeless people
