Frankenstein book review.

Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley and

published in 1818, is a horror, gothic and
romance story. In it, Shelley told us about
Victor Frankenstein, a scientific, who wants
to give life to a death body. And he did it, but
this creation turned against him and killed
almost all his beloved family.
The story starts when the captain of a ship,
Robert Walton, picks up a man on the ice.
This man was Victor Frankenstein, after that,
the scientific recounts his tragic story to the
captain to explain how he had finished
floating on piece of ice.
Victor grow up in Geneva, Switzerland. He
had two younger brothers (William and
Ernest) and one adopted sister (Elizabeth).
Thereafter his mother died and he had to
move to go the university. Two years passed and he became in a promising student
with his own laboratory. He made a body with pieces of different death human
bodies in order to give life him on a stormy night by mean a lightning.
When the creation of Frankenstein came alive, he fled in horror. The following
morning, he ran into with his old friend Henry Canval who had arrived at the request
of his family to see that he was right. Two months later, he had decided to return to
home, however a terrible news overshadow his happiness, his little brother William
had been killed.
Victor went to the crime scene and saw a huge figure, it was the creature that he
had made. Then, he knew who had murdered his brother. Nevertheless, an innocent
woman was charged, Justine, who had cared for Victor and his brothers when they
were younger. Later, he had an encounter with the monster.
The creature told him how he had learned to talk, read, and listen. And although he
had been good, the people tried to kill him. When he bumped into with William and
the child began to scream, he tried to silence him and after that, he killed him. On
the other hand, the monster thought if he had a wife, he could know happiness. Due

to this, he threatened to Victor: if he did not make him a wife, he would destroy his
loved ones.
Shortly after, Frankenstein started with the woman monster. But when he was about
to give life her, he destroyed her. The monster ran into the laboratory and said to
Victor I shall be with you on your wedding night, after he run away. The next day,
Frankenstein cleared the laboratory and went to meet his friend Henry, who was
waiting for him. Nevertheless, Henry had been killed by the monster.
The wedding day came and the monster kept his word, he killed to Elizabeth. Victor
though his father and his brother were in danger, but fortunately, they were safe.
But the death of Elizabeth killed the father of Victor. As a result, Frankenstein chased
the creature and when he was closer, a great storm started. And so Victor ended on
the ship. Victor Frankenstein died on the ship and his pain ended. The monster, who
had followed him into the ship, was seeking his forgiveness. However, it was too late.
The monster jumped from the cabin and lost in the darkness.
I had never read this novel before, I thought that this would be a horror story but it
does not. This story is about love, hate, justice, and why not science fiction. In it,
Shelley presents us an invention, the creature, which could have been used for good
in spite of turned against the people. On other hand, she exemplifies us how revenge
harm other people and how capable we are when we do not know forgive. In other
words, this tale is deeper than it seems. Definitely, I would read again.
