COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course enables students to listen for comprehension, speak, read, and write
proficient Vietnamese. It also introduces them to general aspects of Vietnam’s literature
and contemporary cultural life. Among the major instructional foci of the course are
pronunciation practice, construction of sentences based on simple syntax and controlled
vocabularies, conversation practice, and early literacy. Because classroom interaction is
crucial, regular attendance is required.
