Brothers and sisters,

Join with others in being imitators of me, brothers, and observe those who thus
conduct themselves according to the model you have in us. For many, as I have often
told you and now tell you even in tears, conduct themselves as enemies of the cross of
Christ. Their end is destruction. Their God is their stomach; their glory is in their
"shame." Their minds are occupied with earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven,
and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will change our lowly body
to conform with his glorified body by the power that enables him also to bring all things
into subjection to himself. Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy
and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved.

wonders so great as to deceive, if that

as divorce, couples living together outside of marriage, homosexuality, and related matters,
will begin October 5 and end with a Mass on October 19. ( Families and all Catholics are
being encouraged to pray the Rosary during each day of the Synod.)

whole community. These gifts, while granted to individuals, are discovered and acknowledged within the wider ecclesial community. As a sign of Gods superabundant love for his
children, they are rich and varied, yet each is meant to serve the building up of the Church
as a communion of faith and love. The very diversity of the Spirits gifts invites us to share
them generously for the good of all, and never to let them become a source of division.
Today let us ask the Lord to help us recognize with gratitude this great outpouring of spiritual gifts which enables the Church to persevere in faith, to grow in grace and to be an ever
more credible sign and witness of Gods infinite love. In a particular way, may each of us
consider the special gifts he or she has received, and how we choose to use those gifts to
advance the Churchs unity, life and mission in the world.
