Water is a basic human need. Currently, over 1 billion people lack access to
water and over 2.4 billion lack access to basic sanitation. This water crisis is
largely our own making. It has resulted not from the natural limitations of the
water supply or lack of financing and appropriate technologies, even though these are important factors, but rather from profound failures in water governance.

SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a type of industrial control system (ICS).
Industrial control systems are computer controlled systems that monitor and control industrial processes that exist in the physical world. SCADA systems historically distinguish themselves from other ICS systems by being large scale processes that can include multiple
sites, and large distances .

WTPA (Water Treatment Plant Automation) is a type SCADA in water industries. The processes involved in treating water for drinking
purpose may be solids separation using physical processes such
as settling and filtration, and chemical processes such as disinfection and coagulation.

Free Chlorine
This Free Chlorine sensor will measure accurately in processes that are
between 4 and 8 pH. When used with the Local Display unit and a pH
measurement system, hypochlorous acid (HOCL) and hypochlorite ion (OCL -)
concentration can be used to determine free chlorine present.

Online Chlorine Monitor

The monitor uses economical and reliable colorimetric DPD ( N, N-diethyl-pphenylenediamine) chemistry to measure either free or total chlorine up to 10 mg/ L.
Measurement cycles can be set between 90 seconds up to 10 minutes for reagent
and control optimization. Measurements are preceded by a zero measurement to
compensate for color of the sample.

TDS Online Monitor

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total amount of mobile charged ions, including minerals, salts or metals dissolved in a given volume of water, expressed in units of mg per
unit volume of water (mg/L), also referred to as parts per million (ppm). New controller
includes extended range, digital calibration, on-screen temperature, tri-color display and
4-20mA output.

PLC/Logic Unit and Operator Interface

PLCs may include logic for single-variable feedback analog control loop, a "proportional, integral, derivative" or "PID controller".
A PID loop could be used to control the Dosing, sludge level oh
pH of a water treatment process. This logic unit will be operate
using operator interface in each local control .
