INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS / ARAHAN KEPADA PELAJAR
1. This assignment contains only ONE (1) question that is set in both Malay and English. / Tugasan ini
mengandungi SATU (1) soalan sahaja yang disediakan dalam bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Inggeris.
2. Answer in Malay or English. / Jawab dalam bahasa Melayu atau bahasa Inggeris.
3. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the MyVLE for preparation
and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times New Roman
font and 1.5 line spacing. / Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang berkenaan daripada
MyVLE untuk penyediaan dan penyerahan tugasan anda. Tugasan anda hendaklah ditaip dengan
menggunakan saiz fon 12 Times New Roman dan langkau baris 1.5.
4. Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. Do not copy the
assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within the
approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of your
assignment. / Tugasan anda hendaklah mengandungi 2500 hingga 3000 patah perkataan tidak termasuk
rujukan. Bilangan perkataan hendaklah ditunjukkan di hujung tugasan anda. Jangan menyalin soalan
dan arahan tugasan dalam jawapan anda. Pemeriksa tidak akan membaca jawapan tugasan yang
melebihi had patah perkataan yang dibenarkan. Jumlah perkataan hendaklah dinyatakan di penghujung
tugasan anda.
5. You must submit your assignment ONLINE via the MyVLE. Refer to the portal for instructions on the
procedures to submit your assignment online. You are advised to keep a copy of your submitted
assignment and proof of the submission for personal reference. / Anda dikehendaki menghantar tugasan
SECARA ONLINE melalui MyVLE. Sila rujuk kepada portal untuk arahan mengenai prosedur
penghantaran tugasan secara online. Anda dinasihatkan menyimpan salinan tugasan yang dihantar dan

6. You can submit your assignment ONCE only in a SINGLE file. The file must be in MS-WORD format.
Please ensure that you submit the CORRECT and latest version of file. File which is wrongly submitted
must be re-submitted online before the deadline. / Anda hanya boleh menghantar tugasan SEKALI
sahaja dalam SATU fail. Fail tugasan yang dihantar mestilah dalam format MS-WORD (filename.doc).
Sila pastikan fail adalah VERSI TERKINI yang BETUL. Fail yang tersalah hantar hendaklah dihantar

7. Your assignment must be submitted between 10th 23th November 2014. Submission after 23th

8. Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another persons assignment. You
should also not plagiarise another persons work as your own. / Tugasan hendaklah disiapkan secara

EVALUATION
This assignment accounts for 40% of the total marks for the course and shall be assessed
based on the Rubrics or Answer Scheme attached.
You would be given feedback on the assignment before the Final Semester Examination
commences.
PLAGIARISM: MARKS DEDUCTION
Warning: The submitted assignment will automatically undergo a similarity check. If
plagiarism is detected, marks would be deducted as follows:

Assignments with 10 - 30% overlap with others: 20% deduction from the total marks
scored.
Assignments with 31 - 50% overlap with others: 40% deduction from the total marks
scored.
Assignments with more than 50% overlap with others: Zero mark would be given.

PENILAIAN
Tugasan ini menyumbang sehingga 40% daripada jumlah markah kursus berkenaan dan
akan dinilai berdasarkan kepada Rubrik atau Skema Jawapan yang dilampirkan.
Anda akan diberikan maklum balas tentang tugasan ini sebelum Peperiksaan Akhir Semester
bermula.
PLAGIARISME: POTONGAN MARKAH
Amaran: Tugasan yang diserahkan, secara automatik, akan disemak untuk menentukan
kadar pertindihan. Jika plagiarisme dikesan, markah akan dipotong seperti berikut:

Tugasan dengan pertindihan kandungan antara 10 - 30%: potongan 20% daripada


jumlah markah yang diperoleh.
Tugasan dengan pertindihan kandungan antara 31 - 50%: potongan 40% daripada
jumlah markah yang diperoleh.
Tugasan dengan pertindihan kandungan lebih daripada 50%: Markah sifar akan
diberikan.

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
In a classroom of young learners, the teacher has to constantly ensure that the teachinglearning process is able to create and sustain a positive level of interest and motivation among
young children. This student engagement can be generated through the application of
innovative teaching styles and strategies, use of appropriate resources and materials, and
setting up of a conducive learning environment.
Using Modern Literature in the young childrens classroom is considered a viable way of
generating and sustaining student interest in the teaching and learning process.
For this assignment, you are required to:
(a)

Select ONE story from the Modern Literature genre to use for an Early Reading target
audience.

(b)

Justify your choice of story. You must discuss at least FOUR factors that you have
considered in making your final selection. Your discussion should reflect your
background reading of the appropriate literature on the subject.

(c)

Prepare ONE set of Teaching Plan using the story you have selected in (i). In your
Teaching Plan, you are required to design ONE pre-reading activity, TWO whilereading activity and ONE post-reading activity. These activities should incorporate
the Early Reading skills you have studied in your course.
Please remember to include your selected material in your assignment submission.

SOALAN TUGASAN
Di dalam kelas pembelajaran kanak- kanak, guru harus senantiasa memastikan bahawa proses
pengajaran dan pembelajaran itu berupaya mewujud dan mengekalkan satu tahap minat dan
motivasi yang positif di kalangan pelajar mereka. Tahap positif ini boleh dicetus melalui
aplikasi gaya dan strategi pengajaran yang inovatif, penggunaan sumber dan bahan
pengajaran yang bersesuaian, dan perwujudan prasarana pembelajaran yang kondusif.
Penggunaan Literatur Moden di dalam kelas pembelajaran kanak-kanak merupakan satu cara
yang berupaya menjana serta mengekalkan minat pelajar dalam proses pengajaran dan
pembelajaran mereka.
Untuk tugasan ini, anda dikehendaki:
(a)

Memilih SATU cerita dari genre Literatur Moden untuk kelas Pembacaan Awal
Kanak-kanak.

(b)

Memberi justifikasi pemilihan anda. Anda dikehendaki membincangkan sekurangkurangnya EMPAT faktor pemilihan cerita tersebut. Perbincangan anda harus
menggambarkan pembacaan anda mengenai perkara berkenaan.

(c)

Menyediakan SATU set Rancangan Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran dengan


menggunakan cerita di (i).

Rancangan Pengajaran dan pembelajaran anda harus

mempunyai SATU aktiviti pra-membaca, DUA aktiviti sambil membaca dan SATU
aktiviti selepas membaca. Pastikan aktiviti-aktiviti anda menggunapakai kemahiran
Pembacaan Awal yang anda telah pelajari dalam kursus anda.
Bahan yang dipilih (cerita) hendaklah dikemukakan bersama dengan tugasan anda.
