Printing to a PDF Printer

PDF Creator

In the case of a local printer not connected to the computer used to access the SAP system, for
training purposes it is recommended to use a PDF printer instead of a network printer.

For conenience, an open!source PDF printer is included on the installation D"D. PDF #reator
ersion 1.$.%, authored &y Philip #hinery and Frank 'eind(rfer has &een included.
)he license states:
PDFCreator is licensed under the terms of the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. But PDFCreator
also bundles other components, that can have other licenses. In General: If you only want to use
PDFCreator at home, in your business or anywhere else, you may do it freely and in an unlimited
way. You may also gives copies to friends, distribute it on all PCs in your company and such things.
Not allowed is selling PDFCreator. It can be also tricky to use PDFCreator from a commercial
application and then sell this bundle. Please read the applying licenses carefully, if you plan to do so.
These components are licensed on their own:
GNU Ghostscript: GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
RedMon: Aladdin Free Public License (AFPL)
pdfenc: GNU General Public License (GPL)
pdfforge.dll: FairPlay License

Installation

Insert software D"D into D"D drie. *Please take note of the drie letter, usually D or +,

-aigate to the following folder:

Dou&le!#lick the file: Sap1uiSetup.e2e *or Sap1uiSetup if your P# hides the .e2e,

Depending on the security settings of your computer the following screen may appear.

After the installation is complete, the a&oe screen will &e shown. 4emoe the tick form the 8Show

)he setup is now complete. :pen the 8Printers and Fa2es9 folder.


)here will &e an additional printer in the 3Printers and Fa2es5 folder. If the printer called PDF#reator
does not hae the white tick in the &lack dot as shown &elow, right!click the printer called
PDF#reator and select 8Set as Default Printer9.

6hen printing anything *document, report,etc., to the PDF#reator printer, the following screen will
appear.

For conenience, the 8Document )itle9 should &e changed to something more user!friendly, &ut can
&e left as it is. A useful option is the 8After saing open the document with the default program9.
)he tick can &e remoed to preent the PDF document from &eing automatically opened after

)he document name can &e changed according to preference.

Additionally, the SAP system creates and displays a log as displayed &elow.
