The Race Bomb
E
vivvwuivi wi look, we see ethnic division and racial hatred accom-
panied by gruesome acts of violence and war. And it is i1isivvic!
It seems as if we are reminded daily that mans never-ending attempt
to solve the problems of this worldapart from God and His immutable
lawshas U11iviv v.iiiu! Te solutions men propose only incite more
violenceand more hatred. Soon, these underlying tensions, passions
and hatreds will noii oviv into full-scale race wars! God has warned
about all of this well in advance of it actually happening, which is why we
follow these disturbing trends so closely.
Te March edition of the Trumpet magazine, for example, featured an
article on the race bomb recently ignited by Attorney General Eric Holder
over the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. At least ,oo Mexicans
and one federal agent have been killed with Fast and Furious weap-
ons. But according to Mr. Holder, those searching for facts about
the ill-intentioned operation and the disgraceful cover-up that
followed are motivated more by racism than they are by getting
to the bottom of the scandal. Tis isnt the rst time the Obama
administration has used the race card to shield itself against
criticismand it probably wont be the last.
Tis same race card is also frequently used as a weapon. Tis
week, for example, the Department of Justice hopped into the
middle of a raging controversy over the fatal shooting of Tray-
von Martin, a black teenager, in Sanford, Florida. Te facts in
the case havent yet been fully revealed, but the lef-wing me-
dia and race-baiting civil rights groups have already rendered
a guilty verdict. Te black victim was unarmed, on his way
back from buying candy at a convenience store, when the white
perpetrator shot him in cold bloodbecause he was black.
In fact, the shooter was a Hispanic man named George Zim-
merman. He was a Neighborhood Watch volunteer patrolling
a gated community where there had been a recent spate of break-
ins and robberies. Afer seeing the black youth, Zimmerman dialed
:: and told the dispatcher that Martin looked suspiciousa call you
wouldnt expect a cold-blooded killer to make.
At some point afer he telephoned the police, Zimmerman and Martin
got into a stght, which then led to Zimmerman drawing his gun and ring
the fatal shot. He strenuously maintains that he red in self-defense, which, if he is
telling the truth, is lawful according to Floridas stand your ground lawa provi-
sion that allows people to use deadly force if they are in a

m.cii iv Pat Robertson called for the demolition of all
the mosques in America. It would be front-page news. It
would be on every network and cable-news program. Tere
would be a demand for Christians to denounce him, and
denounce him they wouldin the harshest terms. Te
president of the United States and other world leaders
would weigh in, too. Rightly so.
So why is it that when Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah Al al-
Sheikh, the grand mufi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
declares that it is necessary to destroy all the churches in the
Arabian Peninsula, the major media do not see this as even
worth reporting: And no one, to the best of my knowledge,
has noted that he said this to the members of a terrorist group.
Here are the facts: Some members of the Kuwaiti parlia-
ment have been seeking to demolish churches or at least
prohibit the construction of new ones within that countrys
borders. So the question arose: What does sharia, Islamic
law, have to say about this issue:
A delegation from Kuwait asked the Saudi grand mufi
for guidance. He replied that Kuwait is part of the Arabian
Peninsulaand that any churches on the Arabian Penin-
sula should indeed be destroyed, because the alternative
would be to approve of them. Te grand mufi explained:
Te prophet (peace be upon him) commanded us, Two
religions shall not coexist in the Arabian Peninsula, so
building [churches] in the rst place is not valid because
this peninsula must be free from [any other religion]. In
Saudi Arabia, of course, non-Islamic houses of worship
were banned long ago, and non-Muslims are prohibited
from setting foot in Mecca and Medina.
Teres more: Te inquiring Kuwaitis were from the
Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (vius). Tat sounds in-
nocent enough, but a little digging revealed that :o years
ago the vius branches in Afghanistan and Pakistan were
designated by the United Nations as associates ofand
providers of funds and weapons toal Qaeda, Osama bin
Laden or the Taliban.
Te U.S. government has gone farther, also designating
vius headquarters in Kuwait as providing nancial and
material support to al Qaeda and al Qaeda aliates. Tis
should be emphasized: Al al-Sheikh is not the Arabian equiva-
lent of some backwoods Florida pastor. He is the highest reli-
gious authority in Saudi Arabia, where there is no separation
of mosque and state, and the state religion is the ultra-ortho-
dox/fundamentalist reading of Islam known as Wahhabism.
He also is a member of the countrys leading religious family.
In other words, his pronouncements represent the o-
cial position of Saudi Arabiaa country that, we have been
told time and again, changed course afer /:: and is now
our ally and solidly in the anti-terrorism camp.
Why are the reporters covering the State Department
and the White House not asking administration ocials
whether they are troubled by Saudi Arabias senior religious
authority meeting with supporters of al Qaeda and telling
them that, yes, Christian churches should be demolished:
How about the centers for Islamic-Christian understand-
ing that have been establishedwith Saudi moneyat
such universities as Harvard and Georgetown: Do they
suppose there is nothing here to understandno need for
any academic scrutiny of the Saudi/Wahhabi perspective
on church-burning and relations with terrorist groups:
My guess is that all of the above have persuaded them-
selves that there are more pressing issues to worry about,
such as the worldwide epidemic of Islamophobia .

to say that the perpetrator was a white
far-right racist. Te lone gunman had
mown down at close range a rabbi
and three children at a Jewish school,
wounding several others. He was
thought to be the same killer who a
few days earlier had murdered three
black French paratroopers in two
separate attacks. A killer who targeted
Jews and blacksmust be a far-right
white racist, right:
Wrong. Te suspect who the French
police have now cornered turns out to
be a jihadi Islamic terrorist with self-
declared links to al Qaeda, who has
made trips to Afghanistan and Paki-
stan in the past. Well, theres a surprise.
Jews throughout the world are all
potential targets for attack in a terrify-
ing manifestation of global incitement
to murder. Islamists regularly declare
their intention to kill Jews wherever
they can nd them. Hundreds of rock-
ets red from Gaza at southern Israel
over the past couple of weeks bear out
daily the frenzied attempt to murder
as many Jews as possible. Tere
have been repeated Islamic terrorist
attempts on Jewish targets around
the world. Ohand Islamists have
been murdering black people in Libya
because they are black.
Yet all this is ignored by the main-
stream media. Desperate to sanitize
Muslim genocidal terrorism the
media simply did not entertain the
possibility that the perpetrator of the
French killings might have been a
Muslim. So a range of likely perpetra-
tors was canvassedbut they were all
variations on white racists.
And even when the perpetrator
turned out to be an Islamic terrorist
the media were still trying to spin it

Usvic1s iixiu to Iran have been spotted allegedly pos-
ing as tourists in order to stake out potential terror targets
in New York City. A senior New York police ocial disclosed
that at least :, suspects with ties to the Iranian government
had been questioned by authorities in the last seven years afer
conducting surveillance of possible attack sites.
Mitchell Silber, the New York Police Departments direc-
tor of intelligence analysis, said the citys large Jewish popu-
lation and international signicance as a terror target made
it ripe for a strike by either Iran or Hezbollah, the Lebanon-
based militant group it sometimes uses as a proxy.
Testifying before the House of Representatives Home-
land Security Committee, he said the suspects included
six people on a sightseeing cruise who were taking photo-
graphs and lm of well-known New York landmarks such
as the Brooklyn Bridge in :oo,. And in September :o:o,
federal air marshals detained four people taking pictures
and lms at a heliport in the city.
During questioning, all :, people admitted that they
were associated with the Iranian government, but they were
ultimately released without charge.
Congress is examining the threat from Iranian-linked
terrorism as tensions between Washington, D.C., and Tehran
have escalated in recent weeks. Last year, Iran was accused
of plotting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the United
States, and ocials have long feared that Hezbollah opera-
tives could be deployed to carry out attacks in America.
Last month, in an editorial for the Wall Street Journal,
Mr. Silber warned that Iran currently posed the greatest
terror threat to New York. He said: Iran is the subject of
the vast majority of our discussions right now. Tis, right
now, is a front-burner issue. I hesitate to say its number
one, because we dont want to ignore the other threats, but
right now, its essentially number one.
Te vvu must remain vigilant in attempting to detect
and disrupt any attack by Iran or its proxies. Anything less
would be abdicating our duty to protect New York City and
its residents.

Egypts Brotherhood
Mulling Run for
President
ASSOCIATED PRESS | March 21
T
ui MUsiim Brotherhood, Egypts
most powerful political group, said
Wednesday it is considering running
its own candidate in upcoming presi-
dential elections, dropping its previ-
ous decision to avoid direct participa-
tion in the race.
Te group appears to be playing
one of its last cards in a power strug-
gle against the ruling military council,
afer it failed to force the military to
replace its cabinet with a new one
appointed by the Islamist-dominated
parliament.
If a Brotherhood elds a candidate
and wins the presidency, the group
would control the two main branches
of power. In parliamentary elections,
the rst since a popular uprising un-
seated President Hosni Mubarak last
year, it won nearly half the seats.
Since then, the Brotherhood has
sought to allay fears of local liberals as
well as Egypts Western allies about an
Islamist takeover by saying it would
not eld its own candidate for presi-
dent. Elections are set for May :,-:.

said Irans Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps has signicantly ex-
panded its presence in Syria over the
last two months. Tey said ivcc sent
at least another :,ooo ocers in Syria
in :o:: to help quell the Sunni revolt.
Tey are working with the Syrian
Army and security forces on all major
operations and control the intelligence
apparatus, an intelligence source said.
Te sources said ivcc was playing a
major role in protecting the regime of
President Bashar Assad and planned
the massive assault on Homs and
Rastan. Tey said ivcc was facilitat-
ing operations, supplying intelligence,
selecting units and weapons as well as
deploying special forces.
Te Iranians are now running the
show and using Syrian repower in an
eective manner, the source said.
ivcc was also deploying ghters
from the Lebanese-based Hezbol-
lah for operations, particularly in
southwestern Syria. Te sources said
Hezbollah troops were used in combat
to avoid charges of direct Iranian
intervention in the Assad war on
the Sunni rebels. Iran is resupply-
ing Syria, just as it has supplied Syria
for some time and through Syria has
supplied weapons to Hezbollah, U.S.
Assistant Secretary of State Tomas
Countryman said on February :,.
Te sources said ivcc was training
Syrian units on intelligence, electronic
warfare and reconnaissance, par-
ticularly in urban warfare. Tey said
ivcc was also recruiting members
of Iranian-sponsored Shiite militias
in Iraq. ivcc has been in Syria for

processwill ultimately lead to an
explosion of war that will engulf Israel
and spark another world war.
n Hamas moving to align with
Muslim Brotherhood
It appears Hamas has stayed out of
the recent clashes in the Gaza Strip for
fear of provoking Israeli retaliation.
Tis is not to say Hamas is becoming
more moderate, however. As Cour-
cys Intelligence Brief points out, In
fact what has happened is that in re-
sponse to the triumph in Egypt of the
Muslim Brotherhood (MB), Hamas is
tacking back towards its own Muslim
Brotherhood roots, not out of modera-
tion but because MB-controlled Egypt
can provide the Palestinians with
long-term support (March :).
Egypt is becoming increasingly hostile
toward the West, and it appears U.S.
aid will only restrain it for so long.
On March , for example, Egyptian
Foreign Minister Muhammad Kamel
Amr said that U.S. aid to Egypt was
not eternal and that it distorts the
nature of bilateral relations between
the two countries. Te Trumpet has
long explained that Bible prophecy
indicates Egypt will align itself with
Iran and its radical Islamist proxies.
As early as December :, Mr. Flurry
wrote in the Trumpet: Te radical
Islamic movement, led by Iran, is very
strong in Egypt. Tis religion will
probably take control very soon.
Mr. Flurry was even stronger in :oo:,
writing: Islamic extremism is gaining
power at a frightening pace in Egypt
. Daniel :::: indicatesEgypt will
be allied with [Iran]. I believe this
prophecy indicates we are to see a
radical change in Egyptian politics!
n Egyptian parliament says Israel
is number one enemy
Revolutionary Egypt will never be a
friend, partner or ally of the Zionist
entity, which we consider to be the
number one enemy of Egypt and the
Arab nation, says a text approved by
Egypts lower house of parliament on
March ::. Te text also calls for Israels
ambassador to be expelled, gas exports
to be stopped and for Egypt to estab-
lish its own nuclear program. Parlia-
ment doesnt have the power, yet, to
enforce this declaration, so it is mostly
symbolic. But it shows where Egypts
new leaders want to take the country.
Egypt will deal with that entity as an
enemy, and the Egyptian government
is hereby called upon to review all its
relations and accords with that enemy,
says the motion. Te declaration was
quickly supported by Iran. Radical
Islamists are in the majority in both
houses of parliament in Egypt. Tey
control the countrys future.

n Iran pumping aid into Syria
Forty tons of Iranian aid supplies
arrived in Damascus the morning of
March :,. Te shipment was the rst
of four planeloads that Iran plans to
send to its most important regional
ally. Irans ambassador to Syria, Raouf
Sheibani, said the supplies included
medicine, medical equipment, tents,
blankets, food and ambulances. He
said the aid shows Irans support
for Syrias current government. Iran
maintains the aid package was free of
any weaponry. However, the Wash-
ington Post quoted an unnamed U.S.
intelligence authority who said that the
increasing aid from Iran is increas-
ingly focused on lethal assistance. Te
last thing Iran wants is to see a regime
change in one of its staunchest region-
al allies. Although the Trumpet has
emphasized that Iran is becoming king
of the region, Syria is one battle proph-
ecy indicates the Iranians will lose.
n Irans elections consolidate
Ayatollah Khameneis power
Iranian parliamentary elections held
March : consolidated the power of
Irans hard-liners, and shifed the
country away from democracy toward
full-out totalitarianism. Since the
last election in :oo, the regime has
worked to unify its key institutions
and lay the groundwork for cementing
its power. For this election, a body of
clerics and jurists vetted all candidates
for their loyalty to the Islamic estab-
lishment before they were allowed to
run. Leading reformist groups (those
that didnt eliminate themselves by
voluntarily boycotting the election)
were banned. Still, voter turnout was
impressive: o percent. And whom
did Iranian voters empower: Te
staunchest anti-Western political
camp in the country, reported To-
days Zaman (March ::). Of the parlia-
ments :o seats, loyalists of Ayatol-
lah Khamenei took control of three
fourths. Te net outcome of the latest
elections is simple: Irans theocratic
nature will become more pronounced,
wrote the Gulf News. Khamenei can
now turn Iran into a full-edged
theocracy with undisputed clerical
powers vested in him (March :o).

ui .mi Berlin Club evokes im-
ages of a secretive organization, one
in which wealthy old aristocrats gather
together to drink scotch and plot to
conquer the world. Time will tell, but
that impression might not be too far
from reality.
Created and led by Germany, the
Berlin Club met for the rst time on March :o in Berlin.
Heres what we know about Europes latest club of elitists.
Its the brainchild of German Foreign Minister Guido West-
erwelle, it is comprised of Europes most pro-unication
states, and it exists to reinvigorate the unication of Europe.
Germany is joined in the club by Poland, Belgium, Italy,
the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain,
Denmark and France. Yesterday, Presseurop translated
an article from the Spanish .nc newspaper reporting that
:o countries have formed the Berlin Club to revive the
European project. According to the .nc article, Berlins
goal is to create a kind of club committed to developing
formulas that, in these times of crisis, will revive the iui.i
ov . Ui1iu iUvovi (emphasis added throughout).
In a separate but apparently related development,
Westerwelle stated in a March meeting with EU foreign
ministers that the EU needs a new constitution. Following
the German foreign ministers statement, Reuters reported
March :o that nine EU nations had agreed to gather in Ber-
lin on March :o to discuss creating a new EU constitution.
While the leaders involved have been characteristi-
cally vague, it appears Tuesdays meeting in Berlin about a
new constitution was in fact the same one the .nc article
identied as the rst gathering of the Berlin Club. If so, then
it appears the rst priority of the :o-member German-led
Berlin Club is the creation of a new European constitution.
So much for the opinions of the EUs other :, member
states. So much for European integration being a collab-
orative process that involves consensus, compromise and
transparency. So much for democracy!
It seems Germany, together with nine or ten other states
loyal to the supreme goal of unication, is determined to
make the dream of a United States of Europe a reality. Bible
prophecy demands we watch Germany, and especially the
Berlin Club, closely. In Mystery of the Ages, the late Herbert
Armstrong explained how the prophecies in Revelation :,
and :, foretell the resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire.
He wrote, Daniel ,, and Revelation :, and :,, is referring
to the new United States of Europe that is now forming, out
of the European Common Market, before your very eyes!
Notice what Mr. Armstrong forecast next: Revelation
:,::: makes plain the detail that it shall be a union of :o
kings or kingdoms that (Revelation :,:8) shall resurrect the
old Roman Empire.
Te Trumpet has continued Mr. Armstrongs forecast and
explained repeatedly that a closely integrated group of :o na-
tions, or groups of nations, would emerge out of the :,-mem-
ber EU behemoth that exists today. We dont know for certain
if the Berlin Club constitutes this group, but its possible.
What is certain is that despite Europes perilous nancial
state and the immense political uncertainty, the creation of
ventures like the Berlin Club prove that Germany and a few
select allies u.vi o1 abandoned the dream of creating a
United States of Europe!

Four people, including three children,
were murdered at a Jewish school
in southwest France on March :. A

his two sons, and one other child. Te
attack happened just before classes

the city of Toulouse. Law enforcement
is investigating the shooting and
looking into a possible connection to
another shooting: an attack at a bank
last Tursday that lef two paratroop-
ers dead. TeTrumpethas tracked the
trend of growing anti-Semitism in
Europe for years. A new survey by the

that almost a third of Europeans hold

Semitic beliefs. Te European Jewish

sign of increasing anti-Semitism, which

It is time to wage war on these funda-
mentalist political religious groups who
are killing our children, said far right
French Presidential candidate Marine
le Pen. She warned that Islamists had
ourished thanks to a degree of lax-
ity. She said that she wanted to begin a
debate about re-introducing the death
penalty. Le Pens popularity has already
forced French President Nicolas Sarkozy
to shif to the right. Europe is very toler-
ant of its Muslims right now, but this
will soon change. As Iran and Islamic
terror both become more disruptive, ex-
pect Europe to shif in Le Pens direction.
A prophecy in Daniel :::o plainly
reveals a violent animosity between
radical Islam and Catholic Europe
at the time of the end. Daniels
prophecy says that this animosity will
eventually result in a massive clash be-
tween these two powerhouses. Based
on this prophecy, the Trumpet forecast

Against Iran
German Defense Minister Tomas de

between Israel and Iran over Irans
disputed nuclear program would not
be for the good of Israel. Te German
minister met with his Israeli counter-
part, Ehud Barak, in Berlin on March
:o. Tey discussed the growing tension
in the Middle East over Irans nuclear
program. To just accept a nuclear Iran
would be inconceivable I believe and
unacceptable to the whole world, said
Barak at a joint press conference. Mai-
ziere said that Iran is obviously seeking
nuclear weapons capability and that it
must be deterred from doing so. But he
also urged restraint and said a military
escalation will carry unforeseeable
risks for Israel, for the region and for
others. While Berlin currently appears
to be showing restraint in this issue,
Bible prophecy says that Germany will
soon opt for an overwhelming military
strike against Iran and obliterate its
regional hegemony. For more infor-
mation on this prophecy, read our

n China refuses to sanction Iran
Chinas Foreign Ministry slammed
Americas attempt to constrain Irans
oil industry on Wednesday. A spokes-
man has said that the measure would
include sanctioning Chinese banks
that help Iran, and said that China
will not comply. Te spokesman was
responding to a statement by U.S. Sec-
retary of State Hillary Clinton. Clin-
ton said on March :: that Washington
will temporarily exempt :: countries
from its hard-hitting new sanctions
against Iran, because these nations
have signicantly cut Iranian oil
imports. China was not on the list,
which means it has until the end of
July to reduce oil imports from Iran or
else face U.S. sanctions. In :o::, China
bought more than ,,,,ooo barrels of
Iranian crude every day, making it
one of the Islamic Republics largest
customers. Chinas large volumes of

n Ethiopia attacks Eritrea
Ethiopian military forces entered into
Eritrea last Tursday and carried out
an attack on Eritrean military posts.
Ethiopian government spokesman
Shimeles Kemal said Ethiopia waged
the assault because Eritrea was training
subversive groups, which have carried
out attacks inside Ethiopia. Analysts
believe these unnamed subversive
groups are radical Islamist terrorist
outts, and say Ethiopias decision to
strike at them suggests that the threat
they pose is serious. Last year, as the
West was endorsing the democratic
uprisings sweeping through North Af-
rica and the Middle East,Trumpetedi-
tor in chiefGerald Flurrywarned that
Iran and radical Islam would emerge
the victors. In April, he predicted
that Libya and Ethiopia would be the
victims of radical Islam. Why would
Iran be so interested in getting some
measure of control over Libya and
Ethiopia: Tey are on the two seas that
comprise the most important trade
route in the world! Watch Libya
and Ethiopia. Tey are about to fall
under the heavy inuence or control of
Iran, the king of the south. Ethiopias
decision last week to attack Eritreas
terrorist training posts shows that, de-
spite UN sanctions, the radical Islamist
problem in Eritrea is growing.
n Sudans Christians forced to flee
An estimated ,oo,ooo Sudanese, most
of them Christian, must leave the
country for South Sudan by April
under a law passed by the north afer
South Sudan voted to secede. Te law
states that any deemed ethnically South
Sundanese must leave the north or ap-
ply for alien residency. Tis is despite
the fact that manysome studies even
say mostof these people have lived
their whole lives in north Sudan. Hu-
man Rights Watch warns: Statements
and actions of Sudanese government
ocials indicate that they are reading
these laws to mean that anyone living
in Sudan with even one great-grand-
parent born in South Sudan will lose
their Sudanese citizenship, irrespective
of whether they have acquiredor
want to acquireSouth Sudanese
citizenship. Tis is just one example of
persecution of Christians by Sudans Is-
lamic government. Back in :o:o, Suda-
nese President Omar al-Bashir warned:
If South Sudan secedes, we will change
the constitution and at that time there
will be no time to speak of diversity
of culture and ethnicity. Sharia and
Islam will be the main source for the
constitution, Islam the ocial religion
and Arabic the ocial language, he
said. Across the Middle East and North
Africa, Christians are under attack.
Expect this kind of persecution to lead
to a violent clash between radical Islam
and Roman Catholicism.
Student-Loan Debt

BLOOMBERG | March 22
U
.S. s1Uui1-io. debt reached the
s: trillion mark, as young borrow-
ers struggle to keep up with soaring
tuition costs, according to the initial
ndings of a government study. Te
gure, which is higher than the coun-
trys credit-card debt, was probably
reached several months ago, Rohit
Chopra of the Consumer Financial
Protection Bureau said in a posting
yesterday, excerpted from a speech he
made at the Consumer Bankers Asso-
ciation meeting in Austin, Texas.
More students are taking out loans
to pay for college as tuition increases.
Undergraduates are limited by the
amount they can borrow in federally
backed loans. Students also take out
private loans, which lack the income-
based repayment and deferment
options of federal ones, Chopra said.
Excessive student debt could slow
the recovery of the housing market, as
young people repay money for their
education rather than buying homes,
said Chopra, who called the results
sobering. Federal student-loan debt
isnt growing just with new origina-
tions, he said. With so many bor-
rowers unable to keep up with interest
payments, debt is growing even for
many who have lef school.

almost , million Americans play at least o hours a week
the equivalent of a full-time job.
Millions of people live, breath and play in virtual worlds.

By the time the average American youth turns ::, he will
on average have spent :o,ooo hours playing video games

Experts become experts because they abide by this rule.
Practice isnt the thing you do once youre good, Gladwell

Te weak American economy has
driven as many as three in :o young
adults back into their parents house-

Tis means that America now has
the highest percentage of young
adults living in multigenerational

exacerbated a trend that was already
under way since the :8os living
at home longer and boomeranging

Afghan civilians, including women

relationship between the United States

iui. coviv.ci of President Barack Obamas high-
prole visit to Australia and plan to boost U.S. pres-
ence in Asia may mask Americas shrinking global foot-
print. Te combination of concern over China and the U.S.
debt crisis could set Washington on a course to becoming a
mere regional power in the Asia Pacic.
Last November, the Hawaiian-born Obama announced
what his administration is calling a pivot towards Asia,
representing a signicant shif in policy since he took
oce. Te change is driven by changing perceptions of
Chinese power, but its also partly a result of diminishing
U.S. nancial clout. Although Washington insists it will
retain military superiority, the pivot could well mark the
beginning of a geopolitical shif that ends up with the
U.S. being predominantly a regional power in the Asia-
Pacic.
In the early days of his administration, Obama went out
of his way to avoid oending China. Ten in July :o:o,
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton challenged Chinas
territorial claims to the South China Sea, stating that the
U.S. had a national interest in freedom of navigation there
and calling for a regional code of conduct, even though
Beijing prefers to deal bilaterally with its neighbors in
such territorial disputes. In November last year Clinton
formalized the policy shif in an essay for Foreign Policy,
stating that the U.S. would pivot towards Asia. Follow-
ing Clintons article was Obamas visit to Australia and his
announcement that :,,oo U.S. marines would be deployed
to a new base near Darwin.
But this new focus on Asia and promise to reinforce
U.S. military forces in the region are planned at the same
time as growing debt mandates steep reductions in the
Pentagons spending, equipment and manpower. Defense
Secretary Leon Panetta has proposed reducing personnel by
:oo,ooo, cutting new spy planes and transport aircraf, and
slowing spending on the new Joint Strike Fighter.
So, it seems inevitable the pivot will mean reduced mili-
tary commitment in Europe and other parts of the world.
In the U.S., too, the Pentagon cuts have been presented
as a necessity to help reduce the huge budget decit, and
there is no guarantee cuts in overall defense spending will
be temporary. If Washington fails to bring down its decit
substantially in the next few years, future presidents may
have to cut defense spending further.
Washington could well be on a course to becoming a de
facto regional power in the Asia-Pacic simply because it
cannot aord to contain a growing China and maintain a
global military presence.

On Twitter yesterday and

curious tweets regarding

that could be interpreted as a

justice, there will be no peace. Soon the law of retaliation
may very well be applied, Farrakhan wrote, including the
hashtag -Trayvon to clarify the subject of his angst.
Te text of his justice and peace tweet raises eye-
brows. While one cannot know whether he is merely
commenting generally on social responses to injustice or
whether he is calling for the law of retaliation, the lack
of clarity in his messaging raises questions. In follow-up
tweets throughout the day on Wednesday and Tursday, he
had more to say regarding the tragedy and injustice more
generally: Te fruit of justice is peace. But justice is a prin-
ciple of fair dealing, he writes
in another tweet. When we fail
to do justice, we literally set up
conditions that destroy peace.
And in his most recent tweet,
Farrakhan writes, Tink.
Reect. Ten get up and do
something for self or suer the
consequences.
Additionally, he laments discriminatory actions against
African Americans and claims that black youths have not
been informed of the price that their forefathers paid to give
them their current lifestyles. Farrakhan uses the words the
enemy to describe those educating black youths and says
that African Americans have suered at the hands of a
wicked oppressor.

According to the Sanford Chief of
Police Bill Lee, who temporarily resigned
yesterday under heavy pressure from civil
rights groups, the attack happened afer
Zimmerman had lost sight of the youth
and was returning to his sport utility
vehicle to meet with the police ocer who
had been dispatched to the scene. Zimmermans side of the story,
the police chief insists, was supported by physical evidence and
testimony.
None of these details, however, prevented big media and
the Department of Justice from adding fuel to the re of
racial hatred. In the uo,s case, it cant even prosecute Zim-
merman unless it can nd a racial element in the incident,
which would then make it a federal crime.
And so, the search begins for any shred of evidence
proving that Zimmerman was a racist.
In the case of Allen Coon, however, authorities still
dont know if racial hatred might have motivated two black
youths to set him on re afer dousing him with gasoline.
You get what you deserve, white boy, one of the attack-
ers said to Coon, while igniting the ames. Coon managed
to save his life by smothering his burning head with the
shirt he was wearing.
His mother told columnist Selwyn Duke that the vicious
attack was just the violent culmination of the incessant
racial harassment her son had been subjected to ever since
he enrolled in the predominantly black school on the east
side of Kansas City.
Even more damning, Duke wrote, is that multiple
educators were complicit in the harassment (emphasis
added throughout).
Outside of Kansas City, the media coverage of this politi-
cally incorrect hate crime has been sparse, to say the least.
Even in Kansas City, aside from a few outspoken voices, local
media outlets and law enforcement ocials have downplayed
the obvious racial component to this crime. Some even went
so far as to ignore the fact that the perpetrators were black.
During his interview with Coons mother, Duke got the
distinct impression that local law enforcement ocials
were steering clear of any hate-crime charges for fear of set-
ting o a powder keg.
But by not applying hate crime laws equally, big media
and law enforcement ocials are only adding more explo-
sives on top of the powder keg. Whites will only resent the
double standard and begin taking matters into their own
hands. And blacks will view themselves as the only ethnic
group in America that is routinely victimized by racism.
Tis is no light matter to pass over casually, Herbert
W. Armstrong wrote way back in October :o,. Race war
is coming! Racial tensions, passions and hatreds are being
deliberately stirred by organized planning. It will explode
into mass violence that will stagger the imagination! It will
be whipped into an accelerating crescendo until human
blood runs like rivers!
Yes, it is comingto a local neighborhood near you. And
its not just a local matter, Mr. Armstrong stressed. Its a
woviuwiui evil!
Look at Afghanistan. Remember the widespread anti-
American protests several weeks ago afer reports of a Ko-
ran burning on a U.S. military base: Tose protests sparked
several incidents of violence that lef ,o Afghans and six
U.S. service members dead. In one case, two U.S. service-
men were shot from behind by a supposed Afghan ally.
A few days later, a U.S. Army sta sergeant lef his post
in the Kandahar Province and went on a barbaric shooting
spree in nearby villages, murdering :o Afghanis, including
children. Tis random act of senseless brutality prompted
Afghanistans President Hamid Karzai to call on Afghanis
to pray for God to deliver his nation from the American
demons.
Afer more than :o years of ghting alongside Afghans
in the war against terrorism, tensions between Americans
and Afghanis could not be worse.
Ten theres the Toulouse massacre. On Monday, a gun-
man outside a Jewish school in southwest France gunned
down four Jewsthree of them little children. French au-
thorities quickly connected the attack to one that happened
a few days earlieranother shooting that lef three black
French paratroopers dead.
Media coverage of this appalling incident followed
an all too predictable path. Since the victims were Jews
and blacks, the perpetrator must have been a right-wing
Caucasian. Afer we then learned that the perpetrators
name was Mohammedand that he was a jihadist linked
to al QaedaWestern media outlets rushed to the defense
of Islam by parroting the very same deranged propaganda
you hear daily on Arab networks like Al Jazeerathat the
Israeli army deliberately targets Palestinian children.
And so the terrorist named Mohammed was somewhat
justied when he took aim at those three little Jewish chil-
dren. At least thats what were told by the ignorant apolo-
gists who control the ow of misinformation coming out of
most news organizations.
