Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women killing more women than all forms of cancer combined.
In fact, Hispanic women are likely to develop heart disease 10 years earlier than non-Hispanics, and
African American women have almost twice the risk of stroke.
Yet,thereisalackofdiversityamongfemalehealthcareprovidersinourcountry.
Thats why with the support of Macys, the American Heart Associations Go Red For Women
movement is increasing the number of qualied female healthcare professionals who can educate women
of many cultures about their No. 1 killer through the the Go Red
Multicultural
Scholarship Fund.

or ethnic backgrounds?

Multicultural Scholarship?
Applicants must:
Be female of Hispanic, African-American,
Asian/Pacic Islander or other
minority origin.
Be currently enrolled at an accredited college,
university, or allied health institution in the U.S.
Be a citizen/permanent resident of the
continental United States including Hawaii
and Alaska.
Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point
average (GPA).
Complete an essay and submit two letters of
recommendation with the application, available at
GoRedForWomen.org/Scholarship.
