Hypnotic Inductions and How To Use Them Properly

October 7, 2008
There are several kinds of hypnotic inductions varying in approach length of time and tone.
This article will explore the main induction styles and how they are used.
Rapid Induction induces a trance state very quickly in about 3 to 7 minutes. It is mainly used in
stage hypnosis shows and clinical hypnosis and has been popular in last 10 years.
Rapid induction consists of rapid, short, instructional commands and helps to put the subject
into a trance state with fewer words rather than traditional induction techniques.
Instant Induction is new induction method which produces a trance state in seconds. It is
especially useful for hypnosis shows. Unlike other induction methods it doesnt make your
audience feel boring during the show. Instant induction techniques are simple to master with a
practice.
Fixation Induction. This is a traditional induction method. It draws subjects attention to the
fixation object such as pendulum, a dot on the wall etc. As concentration focuses on fixation
object, subjects attention is drawn away from external sights and sounds.
Indirect Induction. As supposed, you dont use any directives in this type of induction, instead
you use analogies or metaphors. Indirect induction is used for subjects who resist any direct
suggestions. When you use indirect induction, the subject doesnt resist the suggestion,
because he doesnt know he is receiving it.
Muscle Relaxation Induction is another traditional method which relaxes every muscle in your
body. Relaxation induction may begin from the top of the head and work down or begin with
toes and work upwards. It is easy to learn and use relaxation induction while doing self-
hypnosis or hypnotizing others.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation Induction is designed for those who find it difficult to relax. It
takes more time than relaxation induction. It is widely used for people who need to relax
specific areas of the body to relieve chronic tension on shoulders, chest etc.
There are also some other hypnotic induction techniques used in hypnosis like Dave Elman
method, Arm-Drop method, Confusion method, Drop Object method etc.
Instant Hypnosis How to Hypnotize in Seconds
October 10, 2008
Can you hypnotize someone in 3-6 seconds? Yes, you can. And it is much easier than you might
think. Below, I will show you how to hypnotize someone in seconds with instant hypnosis
techniques.
Instant hypnotic induction is the newest induction technique. It is especially actual for stage,
street and clinical hypnosis sessions. Instant hypnosis is very useful tool for hypnotists,
because it creates a powerful effect in a short time.

The rising popularity of street hypnosis creates a need for doing immediate inductions. So
celebrity hypnotist John Cerbone, with Richard Nongard have taken the term instant quite
literally and have shaved induction time down to literally 3 to 6 seconds. Their amazing results
are now known as speed-trance in the whole world.
Hypnotize Anyone Now in 3-6 Seconds
Now, follow the step by step process below to hypnotize anyone in some seconds.
Firstly, you must relax the person whom you are going to hypnotize. If your subject is not in a
relaxed state or if she (he) has fear of something, then it will be difficult to hypnotize her. So
your first task is to calm the hypnosis subject. When the person is in relaxed state, do the
following actions.
1- Take one of her arms and ask her to look at your eyes.
2- At the same time, Look at her eyes deeply while putting your arm on his neck at least 6
seconds.
3- Suddenly cry SLEEP and move his head towards you. And you are DONE.
The moment you say sleep, you have to quickly slip your hand away from hers. This is very
important action and must be done accurately.
Instant hypnosis is NOT a difficult task. Practice it a lot on your friends, parents, girls and you
will be able to hypnotize anyone in seconds. Instant inductions are now widely used in stage
show productions and clinical hypnosis. It is especially very important when you are doing
street hypnosis.
ypnosis Inductions: Progressive Relaxation Induction
January 16, 2009
Progressive Relaxation Induction is one of the easiest ways to hypnotize someone. It is
especially useful for those who find it difficult to relax.
The induction is mainly used to relax the specific areas of the body to relieve the tension in
chest, legs or elsewhere. Progressive Relaxation Induction takes nearly 30-40 minutes, so it is
very important to concentrate your client (or yourself if you are doing self hypnosis) on it.
The induction helps to relax all of the muscles in your body one at a time. You should start the
relaxation from your head, then down to the shoulders, feet etc. If you have tension in the
particular area of your body, you can start the relaxation from there.
While doing induction, have the person you are hypnotizing to sit or lie down in a comfortable
position (if you are doing self hypnosis you should do the same) , close the eyes and take deep
breath.
So, here is how a Progressive Relaxation Induction will be:
Make yourself comfortable. Concentrate on your right arm and tense your right arm. *Pause+
Now relax your right arm. [Pause and repeat three times] Now concentrate on your left arm.
Tighten your left arm. [Pause] Now relax your left arm [Pause and repeat three times]. . .
Repeat this instruction for all areas of your body.
Then continue saying this And as I count from 5 down to zero, every count will represent
deep relaxation and you will feel the body relaxing even more and deeper and deeper And
when I reach zero, you are going to go deep asleep. Now, 5 Letting go four three Two
Onezero deep sleep!
As you see, Progressive Relaxation Induction is very simple and easy to learn. Try to follow the
induction on yourself and you will see how your muscle will be relaxed.

How to Enter Someone in a Long Trance
November 25, 2010
In your hypnosis experience, you may need to enter the subject in a long trance. Long lasting
trances are mainly used in a clinical hypnosis. Here is how it works.
First, you need to enter your subject in a deep trance. After being sure your subject is in a deep
trance, make him suggestion that he sleeps hard and he will sleep too hard to wake up. If you
want your subject not to become hungry or drink anything, then suggest him that he is ok with
that (use your own words, but dont use negative suggestion).
You should not enter someone in a long trance if you dont know how to hypnotize people. It
can be difficult to wake up your subject from long lasting trance. So newbie hypnotists can get
excited during the process. This may make it more difficult to wake up the subject.

How to Wake up Someone Who Has Not Been Hypnotized by You
November 23, 2010
The process is nearly the same with waking up someone who has been hypnotized by you.
Anyway, If you cant wake up the subject this way, then you must act like you are hypnotizing
him. Put your arm on his head and make suggestions for some minutes. Then, check if the
subject is under your control or not. For checking this, you can ask him to open and close his
eyes, then suggest him that he smells wonderful roses and so on.
If the subject does not obey you, then tell him strictly that he must obey you and do what you
command.
You can tell him with a strong voice: If I command you now something, you will immediately
follow my commands. Then tell him to do something. This is a good technique. You can use
this when you have problems with waking up subjects who has not been hypnotized by you.

How to Terminate a Trance State
July 24, 2010
You can always wake up your subject from trance state.
Here is the technique to terminate a trance when you hypnotize someone.
Spoken to Your Subject
Each time that you use this method for easy relaxation, you relax more easily, more quickly,
and more deeply. Relaxation is a skill that you are easily developing with trance.
Now, Im going to count from one to five, and then Ill say, Fully aware. At the count of five,
your eyes are open, and you are then fully aware, feeling calm, rested, refreshed, relaxed.
All right. One: slowly, calmly, easily youre returning to your full awareness once again.
Two: each muscle and nerve in your body is loose and limp and relaxed, and you feel
wonderfully good.
Three: from head to toe, you are feeling perfect in every way. Physically perfect, mentally
perfect, emotionally calm and serene.
On the number four, your eyes begin to feel sparkling clear. On the next number I count,
eyelids open, fully aware, feeling calm, rested, refreshed, relaxed, invigorated, full of energy.
Number five: Youre fully aware now. Eyelids open. Take a good, deep breath, fill up your
lungs, and stretch.
