ADVERTISEMENT FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES
Indefinite Scope Professional Services Agreement - Structural Engineering

Iowa State University is requesting proposals for Structural Engineering Indefinite Scope
Professional Services and has been authorized by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa to
proceed with procurement.

The agreement will be for a period of up to five (5) years with a three (3) year initial term and
option for two (2) additional one (1) year extensions. The maximum annual value of the services
provided under this contract is $500,000. It is the universitys intent to select a minimum of two
(2) firms.

Planning, design and construction related services under the agreement will include structural
design, preparation of contract documents, bidding and construction phase services, forensic
investigation of existing structures, structural verification and modification of existing structural
conditions and related feasibility studies.

Strong preference will be given to those firms that will respond to campus issues promptly with
extensive and successful experience in the design of higher education facilities that
demonstrate innovative design solutions and sustainable design practices.

Firms interested in providing services for this contract are invited to respond to Daniel Sloan,
University Architect, Iowa State University, Facilities Planning and Management, 200 General
Services Building, Ames, IA 50011-4025.

Responses are to be provided electronically, on a flash drive or other media, and include the
following:

1. letter of interest,
2. completed copy of Consultant's Information Form*,
3. organization chart and resumes of proposed key team members,
4. project examples**, and
5. a one page summary of qualifications (include any additional or specialized services
related to the discipline offered).

(use PDF forms to fill in information)

** For project examples, provide images of up to seven projects that directly demonstrate firm's
qualifications to provide services for the subject agreement and at least one of the proposed team
members have had substantial involvement. Include Project Name on all pages. On the first
page for each project provide Location, Brief Project Description, Date Completed, Construction
Cost, Project Type, Client Reference (Name, Phone, & Email), Principals name (on proposed
team?, yes or no), Project Managers name (on proposed team?, yes or no) Designers name (on
proposed team?, yes or no), There is no limit on the number of slides.

Other backup or supporting materials may be included with the submittal as deemed
pertinent to evaluate firm's qualifications.

Provide the above materials in a single Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file, organized in the
order of the above list. DO NOT submit paper copies.

To ensure consideration, all materials must be received by 4:00 p.m., April 15, 2014. Email
submittals will not be accepted.
