6 Permit Requirement
Permit to Work required as critical equipment

7 Preparations
a) Gather and inspect all tools required for the job.
b) Hold Pre-job safety Meeting
c) Erect Barriers around work area
d) Test communications between parties involved and advise Drillers you are about to commence
work
e) Insure all personnel involved understand the duties
8 Procedures (Reference to the drawing and photos below).
1. Open the valves at the inlets and outlets of the pumps.
2. Check that all shut-off valves in this and in the inverter and diode supply cabinets are open.
3. Connect the filling hose to the fill/drain coupling in the lower part of the LCU cabinet.

4. Lead the bleed hoses to buckets.
5. Open the bleed valves (also from other cabinets). NOTE only if topping up from new or after an inverter
replacement. When Topping up due to low pressure DO NOT Open Bleed valves as pressure will be lost.
6. Open the fill/drain valve V310.

7. Fill in the system.
8. Control the base pressure to 1...1.5 bar by flowing water from the fill/drain coupling. Monitor pressure on gauge PI-
204
9. When there is sufficiently coolant in the piping, water begins to overflow from the bleed hoses. Drain a little water
before closing the bleed valves.

9 Clean Up
a) Gather all tools used during operation and return them to their dedicated storage place, ensuring
that they are clean and ready to use for the next job.
b) Clear up any spillage with rags and bucket. Ensure no leaks on the system.
c) When applicable sign of the Permit-to-Work and return the permits to the bridge.
