An Essex County family is joining the fight to keep God in the Pledge of
Allegiance as a court ruled that Samantha Jones, 17, and her family can intervene in a
lawsuit aimed at eliminating the words one nation under God. According to her
attorney Diana Verm, of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, the Highlands Regional
High School Senior is appealing that removing the phrase referencing God is violating
her right to say the entire Pledge.
The family was granted an order on September 18th, giving them the right to
intervene in the case, and will be taking the side of the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional
School district. The American Humanist Association is also suing the school district to
have the pledge removed on behalf of an unnamed family.

The original film is probably something all will never forget whether we saw it in a
history class or a news series, but now theres a new release

Previously unreleased footage of John F. Kennedy's motorcade prior to his assassination
presents a surprising new twist in a saga that has gripped the United States for four
decades. The 8mm (MILI-METER) silent footage, which was released Monday, was
recorded moments before the former president was gunned down. The home movie was
filmed less than 90 seconds before the fatal shots were fired. The 40-second film also
shows the crime scene the following day. This film adds to some of the theories already
made famous by the Ze-prew-der (ZUH-PRUE-DER) film. The film was donated to the
Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas by photographer George Jefferies and Wayne Graham. It
was released in lieu (LEW) of the Presidents Day federal holiday.

In Entertainment
Sylvester Stallones Australian hotel room and private jet was searched for illegal
substances, say Australian authorities. This search comes just three days prior to
authorities seizing banned substances when he and his entourage were stopped by
Australian customs officials after a routine X-ray detected something wrong with their
luggage. Authorities detained Stallone and his entourage for what was believed to be a
type of human growth hormone. The outcome is still to be seen; Australians have a no
tolerance policy for any type of illegal drugs, including steroids and performance-
enhancing substances. Stallone was in Australia in support of the Australian premiere of
Rocky Balboa.
