Safety information

Personnel operating and maintaining the equipment should receive system technical
training and be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of its operation and maintenance.
To ensure their safety, all users should read this chapter carefully before using the
system. Inaddition, to promote safety awareness, Service Engineers should
periodically review the basic precautions outlined in this chapter.
1Overview
Do not remove the covers of the exposure equipment.
Do not defeat or bypass built-in equipment safety features.
Do not attempt to repair the equipment if it fails. Immediately call a person
qualified and authorized to repair the equipment.
Do not attempt to move equipment, connect or disconnect any
communication cables.
Observe all warnings, cautions, stated or implied, instructions, in the
procedures.
Keep all safety labels on the equipment permanently.

2Electrical
Only a qualified/trained Service Engineer or electrician can replace electrical
components.

3Mechanical
Keep fingers, hands, and tools away from moving parts.
Unless specifically instructed, do not operate the equipment with covers or
panels removed.
Route cables properly to eliminate tripping hazards.

4Safety Warnings and Cautions
The sale and use of the equipment has been approved by the government
REV1.0 3
ASR-3000 X-RAY MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICE MANUAL Total 28 Pages
Only qualified personnel may operate the system equipment. Operation of
the equipment by persons who have not been trained or who are unfamiliar
with the systems functions and controls may cause serious injury to the
patient, serious injury to the operator, or damage to the equipment.
The system includes no user serviceable parts. For service assistance, contact
Company.

5Radiation and Magnetic field Warnings and Cautions
The system produces ionizing radiation. Operators observe all state and local
requirements and regulations.

6Other Warnings and Cautions
The ASR-3000 Console component of the system may not be located in high
humidity environment.
The system and associated cables must not be operated in the presence of
moisture.
To avoid excessive product leakage currents and to maintain product
compliance to medical protective earth and grounding requirements, the
systems power cord must be connected directly to a hardwired ac mains
receptacle.
Ensure that earth grounding connections between the components and the
building are maintained at all times. The components include Stand; X-ray
Generator; and Console.
The Console cabinet includes a dedicated, bolted, protective ground
connection to the buildings electrical system. Do not remove the grounding
connection for any reason. If it becomes damaged, contact a qualified
Service Engineer.
The UPS must be replaced by an authorized company representative . The
UPS contains lead and poses a hazard to the environment and human health
REV1.0 4
ASR-3000 X-RAY MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICE MANUAL Total 28 Pages
if not disposed of properly.
The ASR-3000 system is not suitable for operation in the presence of corrosive
gaes.

7Warnings Moving and Using Equipment
Use at least two qualified people when moving equipment in order to
prevent injury or strain.
The equipment is fragile and must be handled with care.

8Cautions Cleaning
Do not spray cleaning solution directly onto the equipment. Instead, moisten
a cloth with the solution and wipe the equipment.
Do not immerse the equipment, including any components or accessories, in
liquid.
Do not autoclave the equipment, including any components or accessories.

9Radiation Safety
Exposure to ionizing radiation such as X-rays can be hazardous. Some effects
of X-radiation are cumulative.

Everyone associated with X-ray work must be familiar with the
recommendations of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health , the
National Institute for Standards and Technology, the National Council on
Radiation Protection, and the International Committee on Radiation Protection.

Do not attempt to operate X-ray systems for the health, it's hazardous to health.

the walls and windows of the radiologist's workstation in most X-ray facilities
must be specially disposed to protect against ionizing radiation, thick lead setting
inner walls is widely used to separate from ionizing radiation

Use the proper dose of X-ray for the patient to result in acceptable images

Theory and Structure of the System

1.1 General
ASR-3000 X-Ray mammography system is that the X-ray tube generates
X-ray by heating filament and inputting a high voltage, and then Radiography. To
avoid the hazard of X-ray radiation and high voltage, ensure that line disconnect
switches are opened before repairing the equipment .if must repair in the activated
current, ensure to follow the safety prescribes of the correlative manuals.

2.4 Wall Stand Preventive Maintenance

Ensure that the table is completely disconnected and that the emergency
switches have been activated, before starting any cleaning operations.

Ensure that no liquid gets into the unit. Do not use water. Water can
short-circuit the electrical installation and cause corrosion to mechanical
parts.

Do not use acid or abrasive products.

Use a wax appropriate for the surface.

When disinfecting the examination room, ensure the unit is covered with
plastic sheets.

When using disinfectants, carefully follow the instructions for disinfecting
under explosion hazard conditions.

3.3 Examples
A hospital has a set of ASR-3000 installed. During their operation,
when press the auto exposure, the machine will not perform auto
exposure and alarm occurs. We guess when X-ray is radiated to the X-ray
dose detection board, no feedback signal is transmitted to the control
exposure console. Then, X-ray dose detection board may have problems.
Remove the X-ray dose detection board, power it on. Under the condition
that there is no illumination, test J1 voltage, P2 is +12V, P2 is 12V.
These are normal. While when signal output P1 and P4 voltages are
measured, the value should be 0V. Use sunlight or 60W light bulb to
illuminate the X-ray dose detector, the signal output voltage is also 0V.
After 10 minutes, the signal output voltage is also 0V. But when light
bulb is used to illuminate the X-ray detector, under normal conditions,
X-ray dose detection board J1s P2 and P3 voltages are respectively +12V
and 12V. While signal output P1 and P4 voltages should be 0-7V. With
the change in the illuminating time, P1 and P4 voltages also change.
Therefore, based on the above test results, we determine the X-ray
REV1.0 15
ASR-3000 X-RAY MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICE MANUAL Total 28 Pages
detector has problems. We replace the X-ray detector chips, power it up,
check the detector following the previous steps. All the test data are
normal. Then secure the X-ray dose detection board, perform auto
exposure test, press exposure button, if the auto exposure is normal, then
the problem is resolved.

Related test data:
Connect to power mains and turn on 220VAC switch, J2-1.2.3.4Ground and
SG3525s Pin 15 is 15V0.5V, SG3525s pin 16 is 5.1V0.5V. On OFGB board,
adjust 310, LM324s pin 6 to 4047815pin 2 voltage to be 6.00, adjust
314, 324s 10 to 4047815pin 2 voltage to be 1.00.

If the test results are not the same with the above reference data, then, the PCB fails
and should be replaced.

When powered up at 220VAC, the main unit CPU board C18, C15, C7, C4
voltage at the two terminals are respectively -12V, 24V, 12V, and 5VC44 is 3.65V
U17pin12 is 1.96Vwhile U17s pin 13 and pin 15 voltage is lower than 5V. If there is
any discrepancy between the test results and the above reference data, the board may
fail and should be replaced.

Remarks
a.100V-100V are to supply power to the tube and high-voltage startup board.
When starting the exposure signal, the voltages of P1 and P2 are respectively
100V-100V.
b. p3, p4 pins are power supply for AC 220
c. p6, p8, p9 are power supply for tube large and small focus
d. p7 Ia is tube currrent
e. p10, p11, p12 pins are power supply for tube anode and motor driver.

Caution: Refer ASR-3000 Operators Manual and
Technical Manual when servicing and testing PCBs and pay
attention to the capacitor discharge process to prevent electric
shock.
