OUR HISTORY
Tecnotest, based in Modena, designs and manufacturers building materials testing equipment and geotechnical testing
equipment that are known and appreciated worldwide. Ever since it was founded in 1968, Tecnotest (originally named
Cementprova), has undertaken a quest for excellence which is evidently a common trait of the Modenese character and
manifest in many felds, from Formula One Racing to Opera, and also refected in Tecnotests manufacturing processes and
equipment. When our frst concrete testing machine was manufactured, only universities and research laboratories were
using such machines, but the advent of new legislation calling for quality control soon obliged anyone who produced concrete
or asphalt to obtain certifcation of the quality of their products. So, within a few years, our products became widely diffused
and the company began to diversify its range until all the various sectors now covered were included.
OUR COMPANY
Our manufacturing facilities, warehouse and offces are all located on the same site in one of the several industrial areas
on the fringes of Modena City Centre and are easy to reach by car, train or plane via the nearest International airport which
is in the nearby city and region capital, Bologna. The total area covered is 3000 square metres and also includes a fully-
operational testing laboratory for demonstration and, very important, for training purposes.
Our company has ISO 9001-2000 Quality Assurance and it goes without saying that our equipment is designed and built to
meet the latest standards and test methods. Customers inquiries are dealt with by a team of sales people and engineers
who endeavour to satisfy specifc needs. Service facilities are quick, effcient and reliable although our equipment is designed
so that any components subject to wear or tear can be quickly and easily replaced. Every care is also made to ensure that
our machinery can be installed and commissioned by the user in almost every case thereby avoiding the extra cost of a
specialist, who we are however glad to send if and when needed. Our dealers and agents around the world work in close
cooperation with us, as well as many Universities and Higher Educational Institutions. Such synergy helps us monitor new
market trends and changing customer requirements. Training at our Modena facilities of users and sales engineers alike
has always been one of our main concerns.
OUR MISSION
After almost 40 years in manufacturing, we can appreciate that there are just as many challenges today as in the past: our
long experience, combined with our new ideas and technological innovations, is fundamental to mission.
Awareness of environmental issues and costs involved is now a global concern so the quality of materials testing has never
been as central to the construction industry as it is today, whether it be soil testing to prepare foundations, the testing of
individual concrete elements or testing the quality of bitumen for roads. Governmental and commercial testing laboratories
alike realise that using quality testing equipment pays in the long term, with increased revenue, not counting the very important
social benefts achieved in providing solid structures built to last.
Our human capital and vision ensure that we provide that extra added value to satisfy a market which needs to aim to achieve
long-term results by optimizing resources and concentrating on quality investments which ultimately mean savings in terms
of cost but, above all, safety. This is why training of our own personnel and clients is foremost in our concerns.
