Ruth Anne Koenick has advo-
cated for thousands of victims of
sexual assault over the past 45
years and still faces the same ob-
stacle: silence.
University studies show that
of every 100 victims of campus
sexual assaults, only five report
the crime to police, said Koenick,
the director of Rutgers Office
for Violence Prevention and Vic-
tim Assistance in New Bruns-
wick.
Fifty percent tell no one, she
said.
