Week 4

Problems
During the 4 weeks of practicum, I face problems about appearance and
hygiene. Pupils did not take care about cleanliness of their clothes. In the morning,
Most of the pupils dressed clean and tidy, but they will start to become smelly after
playing, especially after the break. This should not have happened to a school pupil.
Pupils should take care of their appearance in terms of neatness and cleanliness. In
fact, there are pupils who have a smelly body odour. Hygiene problem is not just
happening to students at Level 1 only, it even involve almost all pupils. As a teacher,
this is important because it involves the image of the school and teachers. If
outsiders came to the school and found that the children were not dressed and dirty,
they will blame the teachers and the school. This will make the feel embarrassed and
destroy the image of the teacher and the school.
Analysis of the problems
In a human life, personal hygiene is one important element. Hygiene is
important in our daily. Cleanliness reflects the character and personality of the
individual in the public eye. Cleanliness should be taken seriously and practiced ever
since a person was young. Pupils should make a tidy appearance and hygiene as a
culture of everyday life, especially when they are in school. This is because the
school is where pupils acquire knowledge. If the environment and themselves clean
and tidy will not because further disrupted the learning process and attention
distracting pupils acquire knowledge.
How to overcome problems
To overcome the problem of cleanliness and neatness of the pupils, it is the
responsibility of everyone in the school. Pupils are responsible for themselves,
teachers are responsible for showing a good example to pupils. Teachers should not
allow this to happen because it involves the image of teachers. Teachers need to
constantly advise his pupils. Giving advice is the best way to overcome this problem.
If there are pupils who are neat and clean in appearance, the teacher must give
credit to the students and to make an example to the other pupils
Further action
Teachers should provide advice and comment on an on-going basis. This is
because, the responsibility of teachers to reprimand the student and resolve this
issue so as not to drag on. During the P & P session, teachers need to remind about
hygiene. Criticism is not limited in the class, but can be done anywhere if met pupils
who are not well dressed and dirty.
