Submission of articles to the journal is welcomed at any time of the year. Prospective papers should be emailed to: zairi576@tganu.uitm.edu.my or gopal792@tganu.uitm.edu.my. Submissions should adhere to our guidelines (see Preparation of Manuscripts below). The journal currently publishes semi-annually. The journal will be printed in black and white and prospective manuscripts should be original and not published or considered as publication elsewhere.
PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
General Instruction
Journal e-Academia UiTMT accepts research/original articles, conceptual papers and review articles. Manuscripts should be typed (with single spaced, Times New Roman (Font 12) on one side of paper and should not exceed 15 pages in length including references. In the text, scientific names should be italicized; do not underline any words. Avoid excessive use of italics to emphasize text. Use the Symbol Font for Greek letters and other symbols. For mathematics equation, Equation editor must be used. Each equation should end with a period or comma. In general, manuscripts should be organized in the following order:
1. Full title of the paper 2. All authors names with complete postal address of affiliations 3. Corresponding authors name with full mailing address and e-mail 4. Abstract (maximum 200 words) 5. Keywords : List of up to eight key words 6. Introduction 7. Material and methods 8. Results and discussion 9. Conclusion 10. Acknowledgements (additional information concerning research grants) 11. References
Title
Should contain the full title of the paper Use bold face, upper-case letter type for titles. Authors Name
The authors first name should preferably be spelled out. If the authors are from different institutions, a superscript Arabic numeral, i.e., 1, 2, . . . , n, which corresponds to the appropriate listed institution(s), should follow each authors name. Authors Affiliations
Give adequate postal addresses including the country. The corresponding authors E-mail address can be given as E-mail: Abstract
The abstract should be clear, descriptive and not longer than 200 characters. It should provide a very brief introduction to the problem and a statement about the methods used in the study. This should generally be followed by a brief summary of results, including any important numerical data (means and standard errors, for example). The abstract should end with a conclusion drawn fron the study and the significance of the results. Figures, tables, and references should not be cited in the abstract. Keywords
Keywords should be chosen so as to best describe the contents of the paper. Keywords, up to 8 in number, should be typed on the next line after the abstract Each keyword, except proper nouns and acronyms, should be typed in lowercase letters and italic and followed by a comma, except for the last one. Tables
Tables should be placed and typewritten in the text. Each table should have a brief self-explanatory title & numbered accordingly. Column headings should be brief, but sufficiently explanatory. Standard abbreviations of units of measurement should be added between parentheses. Any explanation essential to the understanding of the table should be given as a footnote at the bottom of the table. Figures
All figures should be placed and typewritten in the text. Figures should be numbered consecutively according to their sequence in the text. Reference should be made in the text to each figure. Each figure should have a caption. The captions to all illustrations should be typed on the manuscript. Explanation should be given in the typewritten legend. Drawn text in the illustrations should be kept to a minimum. Photographs are only acceptable if they have good contrast and intensity if printed in black and white Acknowledgment
Word of thanks for grants, equipment, samples, etc. should be expressed in the acknowledgment section. References
All references should adhere to APA citation guidelines. The manuscript should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of authors names and the dates of publication are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list. If reference is made in the text to a publication written by more than two authors the name of the first author should be used followed by et al.. The list of references should not exceed 25 for regular article and should be arranged alphabetically by authors names, and chronologically per author. Papers accepted for publication but not yet published should be cited as in press. English Language Editing
Journal e-Academia stresses on the importance of linguistic accuracy of every manuscript published. Therefore all authors are required to get their manuscripts edited by professional English Language editors (if paper is in English) AFTER their manuscripts have been identified suitable for publication by the Editor-in-Chief.
Author(s) must provide a proof in the form of a letter from the language editor to confirm that their manuscripts have been satisfactorily edited and the proof should be submitted together with the manuscript. Editing costs will be borne by the author(s). You may seek professional editing service from the following but author(s) are not bound to this suggestion.
