Course Description
Algebra 2 consists of an in-depth study of functions, patterns, relations, and concepts of number systems. he
functions studied will include linear, !uadratic, e"ponential, absolute #alue, radical, and rational. $uadratic relations
%conic sections& will also be addressed. 'e#eral topics which were introduced in Algebra ( are e"panded and e"plored
more thoroughly in Algebra 2. (n Algebra 2, hand-held graphing calculators are strongly recommended as part of
instruction and assessment. 'tudents should be able to use a #ariety of representations %concrete, numerical,
algorithmic, and graphical& and technology to model mathematical situations and sol#e meaningful problems. he
course will be taught through the use of best practices and research-pro#en instructional strategies. )ontent in this
course may go beyond the intermediate algebra standards.
