[Notice for using the Memory Stick Voice Editor software]
-Notes while the IC recorder is being connected
While the computer is communicating with the IC recorder, avoid disconnecting
the cable. The data inside the IC recorder may be damaged.
If a communication error occurs, the message "Could not communicate with IC
recorder." is displayed and the communication process may terminate. If this
occurs, disconnect and then connect the cable with the IC recorder.
If the message "Could not communicate with IC recorder." is displayed while
connecting the IC recorder, check the following:
1 When using an external hub, connect the IC recorder directly to the computer.
2 Disconnect and then connect the cable with the IC recorder.
3 When your computer is equipped with multiple USB ports, connect the IC
recorder to another USB port.
-Notes on using the software with Windows XP Professional / Home Edition
When installing or uninstalling the software on the Windows XP Professional
/ Home Edition, make sure to log on Windows as the user name belonging to
the group with the "Computer administrator"* user account.
(*To find if the user name belongs to the group with the "Computer
administrator" user account, open the [User Accounts] window from the
[Control Panel] and refer to the section beneath the user name being
displayed.)
During installation, the [Software Installation] warning message may appear.
Or when you connect the IC recorder to the USB port of your computer for the
first time, the [Hardware Installation] warning message may appear. In
either case, you may ignore the message without problem and click [Continue
Anyway] to proceed with the software installation or proceed with using the
software.
When you connect the IC recorder to the USB port of your computer for the
first time, [Fount New Hardware Wizard] window is displayed. Select [Install
the software automatically] and then click [Next].
-Note on installing the software with Windows 2000 Professional
When installing or uninstalling the software on the Windows 2000
Professional, make sure to log on Windows as the user name of
"Administrator." In case you have logged on as a different user name, log
off and log on Windows again as "Administrator" and then install the
software.
To change the log on user name
1. Select [Shut Down] from the [Start] menu.
2. In the [Shut Down Windows] window, select [Log off[User Name]] and then
click [OK].
3. Input "Administrator" in the User name box and the password, if
specified, in the Password box and then click [OK].
-Notes on system standby/hibernate mode
While the computer is communicating with the IC recorder, do not let your
computer change to system standby/hibernate mode. Prevent settings that
automatically make such changes.
If your computer enters into system standby/hibernate mode while being
connected to the IC recorder, the computer may fail to communicate with the
IC recorder immediately after system recovery. In this case, disconnect and
then connect the IC recorder.
-Note on sending e-mail
If a mailing soft of receiver sets not to accept executable files, may not
open a setup file of Player Plug-in.
-Note on the size of mail attachment files
Depending on the internet service provider that sends or receives an e-mail
message, the size of attachment file(s) to an e-mail message is limited.
Before sending an e-mail message, make sure to check the total attachment
file size.
-Notice for the customers using the Memory Stick IC recorder ICD-MS1 and
the Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.1/1.2
A message you record with the ICD-MS515 is an MSV(LPEC) file. You cannot
play it back on the ICD-MS1 and Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.1/1.2.
To play it back, use the Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver. 2 to save it on your
computer's hard disk and then add it to the "Memory Stick" as an MSV(ADPCM)
file. For adding a message as an MSV(ADPCM) file, see "Setting the file
format for saving or adding a message(Codec)" of the software help.
You cannot use the following functions of the Memory Stick Voice Editor
Ver. 2 for an MSV(ADPCM) file:
-Changing the user name
-Dividing or combining
-Playback using a bookmark
-Changing the priority setting (You can set it on the "Memory Stick.")
-Note for the customers using the Digital Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.01/1.1 for
the ICD-BP series IC recorder (USB connection type)
The Digital Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.01/1.1 does not support an MSV(LPEC)
file and cannot play it back or add it to the "Memory Stick." To use an
MSV(LPEC) file on the software, use the Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver. 2 to
convert it into a DVF file.
-Note on installing the Digital Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.01/1.1 for the
ICD-BP series IC recorder (USB connection type)
If you install the Digital Voice Editor Ver. 1.0/1.01/1.1 in your computer,
the icons of all the MSV files may be changed into blue. If this occurs,
reinstall the Memory Stick Voice Editor Ver. 2 so that the MSV file icon is
displayed in its normal color.
-Notes on using two-bytes characters
On installing the software, we recommend you that you do not use two-bytes
characters when you input the destination folder for installation.
On using the software, we recommend you that you do not use two-bytes
