Need Statement: To prevent death of human passengers inside vehicle (max 10 passengers) due to high
temperature; applied to American vehicles only

1) The APAD system shall detect unsafe high temperature interior of vehicle
2) The APAD system shall detect human passenger(s)
3) The APAD system shall notify the automobile operator (vibrate and call driver)
4) The APAD system shall notify surrounding environment if operator does not respond to
5) The APAD system shall notify the local police department if alarm still on for 15 minutes
6) Identify the location of the vehicle through a GPS system with an interfaced to the APAD
Controller & the vehicle dash board
7) Ability to generate an alert MANUALLY by the person trapped inside the vehicle to the
emergency services / police.
8) In the eventuality of NON ACTION before the fatal situation inside a vehicle the data generated
by APAD system shall be viewable like a COCKPIT Recorder history.
9) History of Alerts should be available to be stored & viewed
10) Interface to existing vehicles in a retrofit mode should be an option
11) User friendly GUI for display system of measurement parameters like temperature, Relative
humidity & CO2 level.

13) Configuration capability to mobile & other networks
14) APAD shall not send notification for no Vehicle Object, VO (Human or Animal inside Vehicle)
15) APAD shall not send notification for Inside/Outside Temp Difference < (+/-)5F
16) The system shall be capable of reliably and accurately measuring automobile exterior and
interior (enclosed confines of the passenger cabin) temperature every specified time interval,
for use by the system computer to assess whether automobile interior temperatures are unsafe
for a passenger situated in the automobile interior for a specified minimum duration of time, if
temperatures in the exterior and interior are within a specified range and generally stable, using
temperature sensors, where quantity, location and capability of individual sensors is sufficient
to meet the need verified using functional testing
17) APAD shall be capable of distinguishing living passenger vs non-living passenger
18) APAD shall cost under 500$ and shall get install in all vehicles (Cost of APAD/InstallAnyWhere
feature)
19) APAD shall be capable of uninstallation and transfer of accounts from one user to another
20) APAD shall have online or technician support
21) APAD shall consist of IR Camera, Thermometer, Alarm and GPS
22) APAD shall operate at temperatures between -30F and 120F
23) APAD shall alert for car break
24) Acts as surveillance camera when inactive within 15 min of area
25) APAD secured by passcode to go to the screen
26) The APAD system shall initiate the lowering of windows if temperatures exceed safe internal
temperatures.
